It's not in Bush's interest not to protect American people, they need the pretext to start wars. Their next war will be with Iran, who they want to attack to stop oil trading from occurring in Euro and other currencies. Iran is about to start a oil trading bourse outside the NY and london petroleum exchange markets where oil is traded exclusively in dollars. This is scheduled to begin in late March.

I find it comical that even after Katrina, so many American people STILL think these government authorities care about them. The closest analogy that I can find on this train of thought is the psychological dependency a battered spouse has on an abusive partner.

BTW, the Onion is a satire news site, you shouldnt be using it as a credible source.

what gets me is that the gov't wants to portray noble intentions, while backstage they are vile miscreants.

I honestly don't think I would mind that much if they just came out and said, "hey, we're big shit and we're here for the oil, now fack off"
