Politics & Religion Well Since every damn forum has one. Might as well leave it out there. This place is loosely moderated and should not be entered if you're weak of heart.

How come all threads that have to do with Walmart at all, have to end up having me move them to the Politics & Religion section?

First off, no way is that the U.S.

Secondly, they looked happy, often bursting into song.

Thirdly, are they a race?

Good question! Perhaps because of the nature of Walmart to inject itself into local politics wherever they are targeting a store location. A friend of mine is a mayor of such a community and has some interesting perspectives on how they attempt to circumvent local zoning and tax ordinances. Maybe because of their anti-union positions, or business models that destroy home-grown businesses. Probably because they represent one of the more obvious symptoms of the "corporatization" of American jobs over individual ownership and local economies.

Whatever the reason, they have certainly injected themselves onto the radar screen of American citizens! I would have to argue that it's the dual edge of the notoriety sword; that when you become a household name, people are going to have opinions.

As I said in a prior thread, I don't shop there and mostly don't argue with those who do.
