If you believe that we are in Iraq for their oil, you really need to put the crack pipe down. If ignorance was bliss you would be living in nirvana.....

I have a lot of friends in the military(ARMY and Marine Corps.) serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and you know the first missions that they went on were to "secure the oil fields". Not to find "weapons of mass destruction" or to "protect the people of Iraq from an evil dictator" but to secure oil fields. They call the missions "protecting the United States resources". You're going to tell me its not for oil?! Thats and you know it...

Thanks Max, I appreciate it.... Don't wait for that SOB to apologize, He's a democrat. He can state lies, call people names, & it's OK, he's a Democrat. It does not matter if he lies, or just makes shit up, it's always easier to bring someone down, than it is to lift yourself above it... (Hell, that should be the Deomcratic cree!!!!!)

I don't know why you're bashing Democrats, just because one person bashes you doesn't mean all the apples in the bunch are bad. I'm a Democrat, but I do not bash all Republicans, theres just some bad apples. Ronald Reagan was a great Republican, amazing public speaker also, however Presidents like Bush and people like the ones walking around the convention with purple heart band aids on their faces make the rest look bad. You cannot expect to fully be respected when you make comments like, "put the crack pipe down", or your out of line comments to someone else who might have been out of line. Let it go, look like the better person. Life is one big debate right, so why not try and be the better person... Politics is like culture and religion everyone has their own opinion and you have to respect that. Respecting and trying to understand someones opinion will make you more intelligent and stronger in the long run, its always proves positive to take a step back and see where some people are coming from.

Actually, the majority of my last statement was made towards JIM, who believes all Republicans are bigots & racists. I can respect your last statement, & very good advice.... Thanks!!!

Let Jim make his comments individuality is what makes the world turn, but you also have to respect his opinion maybe he has met some bad republicans, if he wants to make broad statements that his opinion. Saying all Republicans are bigots is very untrue to you and me its like saying all white people are in the KKK and all black people are in gangs, but to him it might make sense, especially if he is looking at the person in office right now who is representing the Republican Party... My parents are both Republicans and I am a Democrat, are they voting President Bush back into office? Nope, becasue they do not agree with the way they have represented them selves these past 4 years. Just because you are part of a Party doesn;t mean you believe in everything they do. If debates were kept clean they would be really fun and a great learning experience for all.

I don't dispute the historical accuracy of your listings (about events from 150 years ago.) They're just not germaine to my statements (which are current.) You can only rest on that "Party of Lincoln" shit for so long.

And I still would pick you dead last for ethical advice. Heck, I just realized I'd pick George Bush before I'd pick you.

Might I recommend a math class? 1963 was not "150 years ago." It was the formative era of the civil rights movement. Senator Byrd is certainly not 150 years ago. Your statements are as false now, however, as they have been within the past 150 years.

What do your own Governer and Lt. Governer say today?

Didn't vote for them either. But since they were elected by crossover Democrats, I suspect they'll regret this day.

So I'm interested in your actual response to my actual statement. Are you saying that you believe bigots would choose the Democratic party over the Repub party? I'd love to hear your logic (or God forbid, evidence) on this one.

For the record, I never said all Republicans were bigots. That's just the smear being attempted in lieu of a cogent counter-argument. Repeat it all you want, but the truth is just a few posts above.

On to another topic:

If you recall the 1st Gulf War, the 1st thing the Iraqis did upon our arrival was to ignite the oil fields, creating quite a few problems both ecologically and operationally.

If it was about oil, you would have seen us seizing the oil, which did not happen. You would also not see the independent government in Iraq today. The oil-thing is a red herring.

No I didn't. I said it straight out. I also said that other people considering membership in the Republican party (who presumably are not bigots) should be aware of the company they'd be keeping.

Care to try to twist and smear what I said for the rest of the day or would you like to try to put forth why the Repub party is not the one that would be chosen by bigots (over the Democratic party.) That's your assertion, I believe. Care to try to defend it? Or is that not your assertion?
