Dang Steve!!! I'm glad your ok and poor Renee!! Collar Bones suck to break and hurts like heck...

I'm with you, I'd park her for a while... seems like too many things are happening at once. I'd just take a break form it all for a while.

That's the thing about the small, winding farm roads around here, it happends to all of us with trucks or cars being in your lane. Some thing you REALLY need to keep you eyes open for.

Tell Renee that I hope she feel better soon...

respect........., what becuase you have a 600RR you want respect.. crashing 2 times in as many mos. doesn't earn you respect.

your concern for your wife is overwhelming............/sarcasm

My concern for my wife is more than you may have gathered with your low intellect and your high egotistical attitude.. Do me a favor, never post in my threads again, cause your blatantly an arrogant asshole, I would be surprised if your married or even have riding buddies. You think because your an MSF instructor your the god of motorcycles. Guess what, here's a clue for you, I hold shit on a higher level then you. Frankily your just a jackoff in my book and if I was close enough I'd pay you a visit have a man to man discussion. I knew you'd post and I knew you'd come up with some smart ass way to blame it on my bike. Go ahead try, cause it doesn't matter what fucking bike I was on I had a truck in my lane coming at me then he swerved back at me, almost took out my buddy behind me, he's a member here as well. To discuss respect I bet if I posted a poll more then 80% of the people on this board would probably say they have no respect for you. They'd just agree your a middle aged arrogant asshole who was picked on as a kid and now that your older you feel it neccessary to pick on others that you feel you have some sort of power over..... Take a look in the mirror all you'll see is a loser staring back at you.

heard that reply plenty of time for many years on this board and others.........anyhting new..

, i-net thug.........

pick on, lol, how about evaluate what you did wrong and learn. your not dead, so learn from the experience. accidents are a culmination of little events.......what could you have done to prevent this from happening again?

thats what you need to be thinking about vs what kinda plastics you wanna get.

btw, married, met her on this very board, and she rides and does trackdays as well. and no crashes for her either. friends. plenty. more then you could fathom.

another class this weekend.

i'm not your mom or dad, they're there to say, sorry it happened.

as for respect......i get respect from people that i respect, considering this board is over run w/ noobs right now. they don't have respect for other's that might tell them things they don't like......BFD.

been here for 4yrs....ain't going anywere.........there's always the ignore feature, many hve tried.....but they all come back

Well first off, Im glad that you and your wife are OK. Broken bones will mend, its better than a serious head injury.

And in your defense, your probably right, it didnt have anything to do with the size of your bike. But it did have everything to do with the inexpeirence of the rider. It may not have been your "fault", but the fact is 4 months of riding is a very short amount of ttime and doesnt really give you enough time to develop the rider instincts that all of us learned over time. No one is a great rider after only 4 months.

After looking at the pics of your bike, I do have to say that it looks like you were coming into the turn a bit faster then 40mph. But most everyone is correct about starting with a more tame bike. You tend not push a smaller bike as hard, so if you do crash, its ussually not as bad. There is nothing wrong with your bike, or its size, you just have to learn how to ride it better, and develope better instincts, thats all. It will come in time, but in the mean time, dont try to push it, know your limits, not the bikes limits. Right now, you could never ride that bike to its limits.

And Sharkskinz wont help you ride any better. If you want my advice, take a couple of race schools, it will help you alot.

Well I'm glad your both ok. Sounds like your just having a run of bad luck. I've gone though odd ball times in my 10-15 yrs of riding don't worry it happens to everybody (eventuly) When your new to bikes and you have 2 of these hang-ups real close together you just have to realize that your just getting your experiance in a lot sooner then most people. So take take a grain of salt with everything everybodys telling you. Keep with it.

Well actually i was going at a max 40 mph, cause my bike went 6ft off the road and stopped. So it's hard to say I was going faster than that. It slid down the 6foot embankment and stopped at the bottom. I'll take pics of the scene when it stops raining.

Everyone is happy that the accident was not as **bad** as it could have been. But the idea that two accidents in a month are purely coincidental is what is raising the flags, combined with the attitude displayed during the last thread. It's silly to post about an accident, and not think it invites opinions, or that anyone who disagrees with a poster should avoid the person's thread. Here is a person on a supersports bike, riding two up, who is involved in an accident when a vehicle entered his lane on a curvy road. In theory the accident was "unavoidable" right? But how many people can say they have never seen a vehicle cross the center on a curve? That's why experienced bikers stay away from the line in the apex of a turn-this exact scenario happens all the time. Plus it's possible target fixation played a role. Not flaming at all, just talking about the accident. Would a smaller bike have avoided the accident? No, but a more experienced biker might have. A feel bad for evil, his wife and for the bike. As for the lawyer who is going to bring a case for $100K for this? Good luck!

I understand both your points completely. I'm a defensive person and take things hard. Maybe a more experienced rider could have avoided this, the truck wasn't just over the yellow, his whole truck was in my lane, had the chance to do it again I think i would have still chose the ditch. We have a 23month old son, and these rescent events have taken a toll on me, not to include the 30 mins ago I witnessed the remains of an auto accident involving a newer F350 Quad cab and a late 90s blazer + and giant stone wall. Needless to say the blazer was covered in a blue tarp indicating a dead body in the vehicle. My riding will cease for the year, simply do to karma and the fear that death is looking for me atm. The bike is comfortably resting in my basement where she'll sit until my nerves say it's good to go back. Nasheville has a track, where I plan to do my fun riding. Other than that I'll stick to main roads that I know well and can predict traffic better. The only MSF coarse around here is quite a distance from me and requires you bringing your own bike. They dont supply 250's like some coarses do, so those are out of the question. I'll look into race schools to see where they are located.
I'm an ass sometimes I know this, I apologize. I feel bad enough without someone else saying it's my fault. I dont feel it's my fault, the sheriff didn't think it was, either did the other 3 riders that were with me.
Found out today that the guy in the truck almost hit another one of my buddies that was in front of me. My guess is he was intoxicated or on drugs. The county this happened in is known for it's meth labs and alcoholics.

nobody is saying it was your fault. but there are things you could've done or done better. we are all second guessing you and the sit.

but humility is part of learning. these bikes have dire consaquences, and they are not a joke and need to be taken seriously. it's one thing to be young and and dumb. a whole other thing to be young/married/ w/ a kid. your priorities HAVE to change. your child is the most important thing in your life, even above your life. you have to stay alive for your kid.

it's a shame you didn't start out smaller and learn the basics and that entails traffic hazards as well.

i hope you see why all the old guy's are telling everybody to start small.....it has nothing to do w/ making us feel better. we want everybody to love to learn motorcycling as we have. we don't want people buying over there head, crsahing and getting out.

really make an effort to goto the MSF class, it'll get your confidence back up w/ solid riding skills, not the ones you think you have. then in 6mos go do a trackday, it'll add years to your riding.

best of luck

Damn... hope your wife gets better soon........ oh I can't just stand still and not write something more to this, here it goes:
1st: u got bad luck

2nd: u started out on the WRONG bike, because of squids helping u out or just because of not enough knowledge... I don't know

3rd: U mite say that u allways learned something on this board... but by now u should have gone on to a scooter if u realy learned something.

4th: It was preaty stupid to ride 2 up on a road called the rollercoster especialy with your experience, bike and attitude.

5th: gets us to your attitude, ride it how u want but then don't complain about us all going on you... cos let me say it like this: "You know sh*t about bikes" and if you go on and try to explain it better to ppl who do know.... WRONG

6th: your wife will be a much better rider in a shorter time, she seams to be mutch wiser then you are.

Of course you'll prob say again, it would not have changed a thing if you had a 250 or your 600, but it would have.

So pls, it seams that u gona kill yourself soon, take the smallest bike you can find and ride it for 1-2 years and only take your 600 to pose around the block. Its for your own good. Next time you get on the 600 think about this "Am I ready to die, did I do everything I wanted to do, can I leave everybody like this.... bye"

PS: Good that you finnaly showed some +ve reaction in your last post(just saw it, as I did ignore it before cos I though it would be some excuse again This is why I may have writen it a bit more agresive than I should have). But u don't need to stop riding twistis completely, realy try to get a small (real small) bike to learn on and ride it slower and controled than now, and don't get draged into other riders speed as they mite be more experienced. well... hope u can still enjoy riding, and enjoy it the right way.

greets
