Ive had my 2000 r6 yes i said r6 up to 184mph the 04 r6 has only seen 148mph so far.
No friggen way 184 on a 600 : ! Moto GP bikes get up that fast but they have $50000 invested in the bike! AMA 600's don't even go that fast. The AMA 1000 are topen out at 185-190.

My 2004 636 tops out at 167mph and that is off the speedo so take ten percent off that and that is closer to your dyno speed! This is not the site to BS on to many ppl that know what the hell is going on!

$50,000.00 is just for half the engine...Those bikes are running well over $100,000.00 now...
I watched "Faster" and in the movie the guy says it takes over 6 million per year to run one of those teams...I was thinking, HOLY ****!!!!

This is the way I see it...
1st...Speedos are not correct...It's a fact that they are about 5-15 mph off on every stock equipped bike...One of the best ways to get a true reading is with a GPS or a radar gun...
2nd...All of the brand new 1000's have been radar gunned in all of the mags...And they are all running right around 180 mph, give or take a few mph, depending on the bike...
Now, the new 1000's are all pushing 150-160hp stock...A new R6 has what, 105hp stock, at the most?...Mathematics made my mind up...

I am not the most knowledgeable about bikes, but I'll say this. That is a big story to put up with out any supporting info. Makes it very hard to believe. Without proof, I am inclined to call b/s, not that it really matters.
Oh by the way, my fastest is 75. I'll do better when I get another bike.
