Well, I purchased my first bike today . First of all, I would like to send a big THANK YOU to everyone here on SBN for all of their great advice. Like everyone else I wanted to start out on a 600. After reading and doing my homework I had a change of heart, the 08 Ninja 250 would be the way to go.
The ride home from the dealer was great! The bike rode smooth and the brakes felt tight. I am starting to get used to the gears, both up and down. I don't have anything to compare this bike to, but I recommend it to any new rider. I have to admit, I was a little scared at first, but after a short while, I settled into the bike and it felt great! I found muscles in my hand that I didn't know I had (LOL).
The bike fits me well and performance is all I need right now. I truly think that anything more would be suicide for my first bike. I start my MSF classes tomorrow and I am really looking forward to it. I am sure that I will learn a lot as a new rider.
Thanks again for all of the great advice! Ride safe, have fun, and see you on the road!
Greywolf make sure you stop down in the Cali riders forum....there are several group rides that go on not to far from you that you can get out on when you're comfort level is ready. Usually a great bunch of guys and gals that head up through Julian to Pally, all skill levels and really encourage riding the route at your own pace.

Congrats!
Thanks for all of the great comments! I love this thing. When I first saw it I said "Me Wants!" I likes the blue in the pics from Kawi's web site, but when I saw it in person, the bike looked awesome. The blue just "glows" in the sun.
Rick_72, thanks for the invite! I will definitely hook up as soon as I feel comfortable. Just passed the MSF BRC today! As soon as my paperwork comes, I am going to he DMV to get the license and start riding!!
