Well first off hello to all, I lurk on here every once in awhile. Have some pictures that I thought I throw up. I finally got the experience to got to Jennings. This is my first bike and I only have around 7 k under my belt. I enjoyed listening to the advice that was given/shown, as I was novice we did lead follow laps. All I can say is I had a blast... up until I did a dirt dance and the bike flipped. Don't remember much after the initial impact. I saw I wasn't going to make the turn and stood it up all was fine up the the point I hit something in the dirt and I went flying...
nice pics! i like the all black look. how did your body and the bike fair through the crash? hope you're OK

curious as to what happened...too fast? usually if you feel yourself going to fast, just lean more

When it happened I was already leaned farther than I ever was that day, the knee was down and I didn't think there was much else I could do. It was a split second decision and it was probably the wrong one, maybe target fixation I don't know. I'm ok and bike isn't too bad, I guess after it went up it landed on the windscreen and broke the fairing stay slammed it into the damper and int the tire fairing, the right side of the tail sheered off and the left plastics broke in half, just gives me another excuse to get more painting exp under my belt. Last time it got scuffed on the street up I repainted it I screwed up got in over my head and it was a learning experience. I only got to rise three 15 min sessions which sucks, but oh well.
Also thanks for the responses. I'm fine I thin I just tore some muscle around my right hip and shoulder. I could barely move without intense pain for about 3 days.
ya, lunchbox, easier said than done.
first and only time i ran wide where i went off the tarmac i wasn't lucky enough for it to be on a track.
i was in a canyon run.
thank god it was in a right hand turn with runoff space and not a left hander with a cliff on the right.
i hit a double apex with shrubs on the inside so i didn't see the 2nd apex comin' at all.
i lifted up after first apex and the drive out of that first one was way too much for entry into the 2nd.
instead of leaning harder and easing off the throttle, i did what any n00b's instinct is (this was only after a few months of riding). i popped up and tried slamming on the breaks.
i went off into the dirt and ran over some pretty big rocks.
i stayed up but holy hell that was freaky.
so i can't even imagine dragging knee on my first trackday and the feeling of still running wide.
sounds like he was just carrying too much speed regardless of his lean angle.
and it's the hardest thing in the world to convince your brain that getting CLOSER to the ground will keep you from crashing.
it's completely going against your natural instinct.
again damn good pics man. this just makes me want to attempt the K5 to K6 tail conversion that much more.
