Phantom injury I rec'd last night...and it's a nice one.
So sometime between my heavy drinking last night and about 9am this morning...
I rec'd the following phantom injury to my left wrist that has completely crippled it.
I didn't fall, I didn't run into anything, I didn't punch anyone or anything...and I didn't feel it until I went to pick up my son and couldn't.
This sucks! It feels like something in there is dislocated and my left thumb is completely useless except for the very tip...I can wiggle that.
With a 6 hour wait at the ER, I just decided to go to Savon and buy a wrap for it until tomorrow.
If this is a dislocation of some sort the down time is going to be a bitch!
Here are the pics...any thoughts? Any EMT's on the board?

Compare it to your other wrist and see if anything seems out of whack (bones or anything sticking out differently than the other wrist).

Yeah that bulge that is circled in all the pics is what's different. Also...my effing hand sits at a slightly different angle on the injured hand than the normal hand.

could be a swollen lymph node (if there's one there... i'm not doctor. seems like a NO) or an infected sweat gland or something. My best friend got an infected sweat gland in his ankle TOTALLY out of the blue when he woke up one morning and couldnt walk for three days.
I think he had lightly tapped his ankle on the staircase the day before... but so lightly it didn't even bruise.
Wierd things happen....

You know, if I recall correctly, the same exact thing happened to my dad out of the clear blue one day. He did the same thing... wrapped it in an ACE bandage... and it eventually went away. I think the pain lasted a couple of weeks or so, but not as bad as that first day. He never did figure out what the problem was...

Any rotation.
I wouldnt even call it pain...it feels like shit is moving around in there and I just wont rotate all the way.
I cant do anything without the bandage on...I cant make a fist without the bandage either...my thumb wont curl except for the very tip.

Naw...I felt around and cross referenced a bone chart for the wrist and hand...the bulge is bone...but it doesen't feel broken.

Sounds like you might have banged it on something during the night (I have done the same before) may have just bruised a muscle or something and a little swelling has got everything "moving". Ibuproferan and a little ice should help bro.
