Default 700hp Corvette vs '04 R1

...surprisingly in some very nice twisties!

Streetfire

Its about ten minutes long. Apparently the two/three are friends and the Corvette owner doesn't just randomly race bikes like this or anything. Still...even if he was my friend I think I'd want to lean a bit harder just to keep him from being so close to my ass.

that one part at the end wasn't cool though...I mean ride your friend's ass all day if you want, but it ticked me off when he was riding another rider's ass at the end

That road looks like Angeles Crest/Angeles Forest HWY in my neck of the woods. THe tunnel and the bridge gave it away. Nice highspeed sweepers. THose bikers couldve easily smoked that vette...or maybe not.

+1.

It was def. a different rider.

He was WAY too close. It really screwed up what was a decent run. Nice looking set of bends there, eh?

Sportbikes arent the only fast movers in these twisties. Sometimes, bikers' egos are too big to let fast cagers pass by. That touring bike needed to slow his ass down anyway.

+1. I would hate it if some cager were tailing me through some nice twisties. It has never happened so far, but it seems stupidly dangerous.

Cool video although it did bring up some random thoughts:
- Holy shit, those are some nice roads
- I'm so tired of that damn song (I believe it is Sandstorm by Darude and is used in way too many videos)
- The 'Vette's exhaust is sweet
- I found it odd that the R1 rider stayed seated pretty upright the whole time (didn't hang off)

I gotta say, i've driven many vette's in my time. They are about the most fun you can have on four wheels. Just so powerful and SO easy to drive fast. It's really the ideal sportscar that you can drive every day.

Sadly, i've heard the C6 is the opposite. Just tuned to the raw edge and very unforgiving. It's sad. Plus, they have no door handles on the inside.

I'll be buying a C5 someday, though. Just an amazing car.

That's about all i've got.

That R1 could have gone a lot faster if he hung off the bike, at least a little.
When the Vette passed the cruiser at the end it looked like he lost traction for a second on the yellow lines. Wonder if the biker saw that?

Default again....bleh

Cool vid
+1 on fast vet
+1 on the R1 rider needing to carry more speed

I wish I could justify spending $50k++ to make my car keep up with stock (or near it by appearance) 12k dollar bike. Where is the real sport with guys who modify the piss out of cars to beat stock bikes? I want to see a video between a car and a bike equally modified. Cars against bikes and visa versa is kinda lame, they are completely different vehicles and rely on different physical aspects to manuever. Sorry had to get that off my chest since the most popular vids I see on the web n e more are gigga-modified cars beating stock or near stock bikes.

nice roads though, and a decent vid all in all.
