Default First trackday

This past weekend was my first trackday at Grattan Raceway in Belding, MI. Saturday was pretty basic...the morning consisted of school (track flags/etiquette, gear, track layout, and bike prep). The afternoon was 3 sessions, with the first being a slow, learn-the-track session. Grattan sure is a technical track!
Sunday was more of a test and tune day. Riding from 9:30 to about 3:30 (and then the rain began falling). I lowsided in turn 3 (downhill, off camber turn) due to my poor line through the turn and too much throttle. Bike was okay, just broken plastics, but no bent/broken mechanical parts. I rode later in the day, with some help from a very good WERA racer (Brian).
A pretty chilly weekend, but cheap and good for the beginning of the season.

Here's some pics, I need a new camera. The last pics of me were taken by a professional, hence the good quality ;)

Some things I learned:
1) RC51s with aftermarket cans are loud
2) I need much smoother inputs on throttle and downshifting
3) Leathers will save your ass!
4) I need more trackdays, it's addicting
5) I've got a LOT to learn

welcome to the addiction - won't be long before you start pawning all your shit to pay for your new habit...trackdays are more addictive than heroin or crack

badgixxer,
I'm already in the process of sorting out all my stuff to see what I can sell, and what I can't. Should be able to make a decent amount of money selling all my worthless material possessions to pay for track time.

I never realized that it was the complete truth of being an addiction.

Nice Pics!!

What year model is your F2?

I started on a 92 model and I will always have a soft spot for them.

seca,
So far I love the Oxtars. I'm just getting them broken in however, but they are quite comfy on the bike. Not the most comfortable to walk in, but what do you expect? As well, they held up just fine in the crash, mainly scratches on the toe sliders and side plastics.

Misfire,
It's a 93. The F2 was the first 600 I rode, and I fell in love instantly. Heck, I drove 11 hours to pick this thing up!
