When I travel, especially on my bike, I always ride through small towns to pick out the cheapest looking place. Economically, to me, its just a room. But each dump seems to have it's own story whether it be the wacky schizophrenic clerk, or the interesting blanket, or finding out its an hourly hooker haven, or the "Butch Cassidy's mother lived in that room" story, or the empty bottle of lice treatment tucked behind the radiator.

I love 'em. However, I've learned that my wife doesn't "get it."

I'm all about saving money dude but damn I would have brought that shit to the front desk! I've seen bums with better blankets than that. Looks like someone fired some buckshot into that thing.

I've never stayed in a hotel overnight with my bike but I might in the near future. Do you do anything special to your bike as far as securing it?

I have a cable lock I put through the frame and front tire. Get a ground floor room and park in front of it.

At least its holes in the blanket. When I first saw all of those white spots I was thinking much worse.
