Thanks,

He means spend the money on a racing school and some track days. The fact that you want shiny new wheels though says you aren't really interested in becoming faster right now, but hey maybe later on down the road you could take a race school and do some track days, you will have more fun than you could ever imagine having on a bike.

Yeah, I understand.
But why would I want to spend all the money for a one time thing?
Besides, each and everyday that I ride, I am already improving my skills.
No need to spend money on a racing school

Why would it be a one time thing? The skills you learn at that school will make you a better/faster/safer/more confident rider. You can use those skills on the street if you choose, but especially at the track. Let me tell you first hand, no matter how good of a rider you think you are now or how much you are improving everyday, it doesn't mean much at the track. I felt exactly the same way as you, and then I attended Keith Code's school and I quickly realized I didn't know shit about fast riding. You will learn more in that 1 day (or 3 days if you do the full school) then you have your entire time riding, I know I did.

Just check ebay, you can probably get front and rear wheels for under $200, in good condition.
I am sure you will need some kind of protectant on the polished wheels, but over that, just put on regular car wax, then it protects them more, and dirt/brake dust whipes right off.
Are bike wheels aluminum? I just picked up my bike, and plan on polishing the wheels after riding season. If they are aluminum, that'd be cool since they wouldn't rust.

If you go to Ebay, or even with most chrome shops, they want an exchange of wheel otherwise it's going to be $$$ to buy a new set of chrome rims.
Look around your local area....like a body shop. Some guys moonlight and do bike polishing on the side for a reasonable price.
Used to be some GIs down in South Carolina that did great polishing on your gear when you send it to 'em. www.extremepolish.com
Looks like the site is down, but you can always check back...

I would go with chrome wheels if it were my bike. Polishing is too much maintenance to keep clean. You will not notice the difference if you are riding in the street.
