Default Tires, Tires, Tires...

It sounds like the Michelin Pilot Powers are some great new tires, as are the new Bridgestone BT014 tires that replaced the 010 model, both companies claiming MotoGP technology. How do these stack up to the typical favorite Diablo Corsa and Sportec M1? Does Dunlop have anything good or are they falling pretty bad? What have you guys heard/experienced? Looking ahead at my next set of tires, what are THE tires to get that are out right now?

Metzeler Roadtec Z6 I just flew up a mountain pass in some hard rain.... Awesome. Good mileage incredible grip. As with any tire WATCH painted lines in the rain, I had a 92mph spin-out coming out of a right turn thank God I was almost straightened by the time I touched the line, shame on me for touching it... visibility was pretty poor, I shouldn't have been going that fast in the first place.

i like my bt014s alot. maybe its the tire maybe its the bike but it stick and sticks good. i did go down with them but i ran out of tire. i was getting greedier and greedier each time i paid a pass on this horseshoe bend. well the last time the edge wasnt there any more. besides that heat isnt a problem

Has anyone seen the new Trackday slicks that I believe Michelin is making? Those sound great too for trackdays, but not approved for public roads.

I've put the new Pilot powers on my Gixxer and they are just fantastic. It is a huge improvement over the OEM D218s (I hate Dunlops!). Within 1 1/2 hours I had them scuffed to within 1/8" of the edge, and that was not even going too fast. Very confidence inspiring when leaned over.

What kind of milage do you get out of those? I commute too much to buy new tires every 4k miles.

I ran BT010's for almost 10G's, yep cord was showing. I switched to BT014's, awesome, really sticky, dry or wet, I trashed a rear in 4G's
