Awesome, dude!!
I'm doing a similar process with mine... the frame and swingarm are sitting around waiting to get painted....
I'm doing candy blue over metallic silver on the frame and wheels, black metallic on the swingarm and subframe, and then white pearl bodywork with blue graphics.
Also, I have a set of 2004 GSXR1000 forks on there.
TOTALLY a worthwhile upgrade. It makes the bike look MUCH more modern and really improves both handling and braking.
I can even hook you up on the parts for the conversion.... I think I did mine for around 320 bucks or so.
any idea how they kept the powder out of the threads?
What they usually do is put a bolt in that thread hole. Were a fab center and machine shop so finding a bolt that fit's isn;t much of a problem. That's what we do at work. But then again it isn't nearly as critical as engine parts =)
Speed Triples are sweet. I'll be looking forward to the completed pictures.
