What is the control module for better thorttle response?
My friend has an 03 Suzuki GSX-R1000 with full exhaust, power commander etc. He has a certain mod however that he said was a "control module which taps into the wiring and ecu like a plug and play" and he thinks it's on for Suzuki's. As he put it, it "unlocked the first few gears" which made the bike extremely responsive with the throttle. I think it's basically a mod to unlock the potential of the bike which Suzuki doesn't want you to have stock so people don't kill themselves.
Does anyone know what the name of this mod is and who makes it and where I could find out more about it? Also is it only for suzuki's or do they also make this sort of thing for other bike brands too?

I just asked him and he said yeah that's it. What exactly does that do? And is it only for gixxers?
Also what is used to bypass a top speed governor on a bike? Just a basic power commander? (looking mostly for an 03-04 CBR600RR because that's the bike that i'll probably be getting soon)

As I understand it, the some TRE units also knock out the sped limiter. I cant tell you exactly how it works though. I dont think that a power commander disables the speed limiter (someone correct me if I am wrong)

I was reading up on the TRE some more today and it sounds like it's definitely only made for suzuki's and there is also something called a bonneville box that is made for the zx-14 i believe. But what about 600's and 1000's from other companies? How would you get the governor off one of those? Or is there no governor on those bikes?
Also do they make something like the TRE for other brands?

As I understand it, all modern bikes are governed at 183mph...so there really is no need to disable it if ur only riding street. My gear indicator from GI Pro has a built in TRE which disables my speed limiter and I can turn it on and off as I wish- But I havent had a need for it yet.

But your riding a gixxer right? How about all the other brands? (minus zx-14 and triumph) For instance does anyone make on for the CBR1000RR or the R1 or the ZX-10R?
I'm not so interested in the governor being disabled as the actual TRE functions in the first 4 gears. Lack of a governor is just a bonus for serious track addicts or dragsters
EDIT: Again I think I just found the answer to my own question, this is posted by baxsom on cbrforum.com under the thread "Timing Retard Eliminator", he writes "hondas do not do this.
if you want to install a timing retard eliminator on a 1000cc bike buy a gsxr.
the tre mod actually does work for them
there are only two ways to adjust the timing on a honda 1000rr
honda HRC ecu
or a powercommander ignition module"
Just thought I'd put that out there incase anyone else has the same question(s) as I. Still doesn't answer the question if the top speed can be unlocked with the use of the power commander ignition module or the HRC ecu and if it does the same sort of thing unlocking the lower gears to full potential but it's a start..
I heard the HRC is pretty amazing but not the best for street bikes because it's super easy to over rev the motor with the much higher redline and the cooling fans don't work anymore so you have to rewire them separately, the bike will only start in neutral, ect..
