I live in a hilly area with LOTS of stop lights and I can't get a good enough grip on my tank with my knees to take the pressure off my hands when braking downhill.Anyone use these or another product? Can they be removed without taking your paint with it?

Actually from everything Ive heard you will hate them on the road. I have them on my zx10r and stopping and going it pulls on your legs. Track and twisties are nice though.
I have them and use them both on the track and on the road. . . i dont have any big complaints. They work amazingly, i love them. then do help grip the bike allot. they are definitely worth a try. I don't know about the paint though. i would assume you would be alright but if you are worried i would suggest trying tech spec first. they are removable.
I have a set on my street bike (GSXR 1000) and my track bike (R6) and love em. I am pretty sure I will be buying a set no matter what sportbike I end up with as the added control I feel I get with them is fantastic. I am not worried about the paint as they are glued on just like all the stickers I removed. I also dont worry about my tank pad taking the paint off when I remove that item.
ive used stomp grips for the past 4 years on different bikes. the work great!
street, twisties...whatever. they work fine with jeans or leathers. you can remove them, just heat the shit out of them and go slowly. you may have to heat and peel, heat and peel. and when you apply them, clean that tank with brake cleaner, and heat the shit out of the pad and the tank. i put the pad in pan on low low heat for a few mns, works wonders. wait atleast 12hrs or longer before your ride, let it set up

I have them on my 954...I got them for that same reason (anyone who has seen the 954 seat knows why). they come off with no paint damage. The adhesive balls up or sticks to the stompgrip itself. Piece of advise though: After completely cleaning the area you want them on, use a heat gun of blowdryer to warm up the tank and the stompgrip sticky side. Take your time to help avoid air bubbles (you'll still wind up pushing them out) and DON'T ride the bike after putting them on for a min of 72hours. I took min out the next day because it had some maint work scheduled and one is dropping slow and sure.
Worth the money most Definite

you're right, it looks pretty trick...I went with something transparent because the paint scheme on my bike goes up onto the tank.

i used tech spec twice before i went to stop grip and both times they started peeling up and falling off. thats why i went to stomp grip and it works great haven't had a problem at all.

Interesting. He's not having that problem yet. After seeing them side by side, I'd pick the Tech Spec. It's much better looking.
But if it falls off, that'd probably be a bad bet.
I'm ordering them today I guess.I do ride on the balls of my feet BTW...I just can't get a descent grip on the tank on downhill stops, especially when riding 2 up.Thanks for the info guys.
basically all of these things are industrial traction mat.
Yep, I haven't gotten around to it but I'm sure the same stuff can be found at any Marine dealer. Same stuff used on rails, steps, gunwales and piers. Some abrasive, some not.
