New Tail Lenses??
Hey everyone. I've got the signals on my 250 mounted into the tail pod lights. Right now I have the stock red brake light and stock red signal pods.
I like the idea of going with one of the colors offered over at Clear Alternatives though.
I like the green ones, the clear ones, and the smoke colored ones.
Any other opinions on them? Right now I think the smoke colored ones are the best looking...I don't know how well the green would actually match the bike, and the clear ones seem a tad bit too clear I guess.
What do you think?

You can see the actual lights there...but I'm having trouble finding any pictures of them actually on a Ninja 250.

i vote for clear, unless you find a pic online of the green ones mounted on a bike and it matches real well.

Clear or smoked, definitely. I'm assuming since you mentioned you were considering green that it follows your bike is Kawi green? I think it'd look better with clear than smoke.
But that's IF that bike is the "same" Kawasaki Green as my bike. From what I can tell, that green color is VERY slightly different almost every year. That's why I still haven't painted my lower fairing green...because I don't know if it's 2002 Kawasaki Green or not. the bike is a 2002, but it's been painted after it got knocked over in the previous owners garage. He worked for a body shop and got the paint, but I can't get ahold of him to find out if it was 2002 or another year paint.

Even if it was the exact paint code, I still don't like the monochromatic look. Green lights on a green bike, blue lights on a blue bike, etc. just don't do it for me; but that's only my opinion. They'll all have a more original look than the current red ones.

Good point. The all one color look would be a bit odd.
The smoke ones might do a pretty good job of "matching" my smoked windscreen.
I think I'll go with the clear or the smoked ones. I found some pictures of the clear ones, unfortunately the images were blocked by my computer here at work, so I have to wait until I get home to check it out.

Well, he's already probably got an illegal taillight setup if the turns are in the pods. I think most states require your turn signals be a certain amount of inches away from each other, and from what I've seen on ninja250.org, putting the signals in the pods of the brake light isn't far enough. So having a non-red brake light is just adding to a list of things a real asshole-ish cop would be giving you tickets for, anyway.
Plus, I didn't know the brake light had to have a red housing, just that the light emitted had to be red. In which case, according to that site, all of them do.

I don't think it has to reflect red...I think it only has to emit red as it's light color.
I see quite a few bikes around with clear ones, so I don't think that's too much of an issue. If it were different colored lights, however, that would probably be a problem.
In either case, it's a fix-it ticket so I'd just put the stock light back on and have a cop check it and sign the ticket then go back to the other light.

Go with the clear. I've got them on mine and I think they look good. Not big on the colored ones. I think look kind of gaudy IMO. And the CA's are super easy to install.
