integrated tail light vs fender eliminator kit?
Ok so this might sound like a stupid question but... what exactly is the difference between an integrated tail light and a fender eliminator kit. I know the eliminator kit will get rid of the whole fender and relocate the license plate and comes with little turn signal bulbs but i wanted to avoid having to cut into the tail of the bike..
I was looking at the integrated tail light kit and that would be nice to have the turn signals in the tail light but does it also come with block off plates or something for when I remove the stock turn signals?
Also I was thinking about putting the mann motorsports fast tags mod on the bike for the license plate. How would I rig that up with either one of these? I know it would prob be easier to do with the fender eliminator kit because it totally relocates the license plate with a whole new bracket anyway but would it be also possible with the integrated tail light?
Also what are your experiences with both? Advantages and disadvantages of each? Thanks.

Integrated Tail Light- just as the name says it combines the tail light and turn signals. It has nothing to do with how you mount the license plate. Check out Clear Motorcycle Taillights for Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha and others by Clear Alternatives and I think you will get the idea.
Fender Eliminator Kits- the good ones totally get rid of that silly stock mud flap and come with turn signals. Some kits mount the plate up high, and others down by the tire. Check out competitionwerks.com they are pricey but I think they make some of the best kits.
Fast Tags- Sorry but here is where you get my 2 cents...if your intent is to run from the police then these are a super "showy"-poser-wannabe bad boy-waste of money. Just leave you license plate under the rear seat and take your chances. If your intent is to show your bike then its ur call.
hope that helps

First off, no my intent of the fast tags was not for running from cops. i don't plan on speeding enough for that to be a problem.
But my one question still is if I go with the integrated tail light, what do i do with the stock tail lights? I see they are still on the bikes for many of the pics on their website. The whole point of getting it integrated would be to get rid of the stock ones, but would that require a fender eliminator kit? And if so how bad is the "cutting" part of getting the eliminator kit (on a 03 or 04 CBR600RR).

Ok, IF you get an integrated tail light then it replaces the stock one completely- you can sell or save the stock one depending on your preference. The tail light however will still look like stock until you switch on the turn signals.
Then one the tail light is handled you will need to ditch the fender. I think many of the new one can be unbolted and you wont need to cut- I cant speak for hondas though since I ride a gixxer.
So in all, you need both the integrated tail light AND the fender eliminator for the most clean look.

I have an integrated tail light. The first pic is my bike stock. The next two show the integrated tail light/my own fender eliminator.

Looks very clean! How did you do the fender eliminator? The good ol' dremel?
I was thinking about it and there prob isn't a reason for me to spend $150 on the competition werkes fender eliminator because all it comes with is the bracket for the license plate and the turn signals, nothing I can't do by just cutting off the fender, installing the integrated tail light, and using the bracket that is supplied with the mann's motorsports fast tags kit right?... Unless there is some sort of block off plate or something that comes with fender eliminator kit to make it worth while?

Thanks. I did indeed use a dremel. GS500 Wiki - Fenderectomy If you go down to the last one on that page, it pretty much shows exactly what I did.

Nicely done, I'll probably end up just doing that with the fast tags bracket though and the integrated tail light too

Would the Hotbodies Racing Undertail be a good option to go with? Because that way it would have the integrated tail light and the fender eliminator all in one right?
EDIT: I just realized that they don't make an undertail for an 03 or 04 CBR600RR only 05 and up... Hmm, does any other companies offer quality undertails or will I be stuck doing the integrated tail light and the fender eliminator separately?
