Default 'fightered Ninja 250 - subframe ?

Had a ? about a pic of a 'fightered baby Ninja I saw on here a while back. Pulled the pic below and it looks like the guy chopped off a part of the subframe to give the seat a floating look. Did a search on cutting subframes, but the discussion was about cutting off the current frame and welding on a new one. I'm just wondering about cutting a piece off the subframe to get the look of the pic below?

Has anyone had any experience with this? Will the modified subframe hold up to the rider's weight? Also, is it just a matter of taking a recriprocating saw to the frame? Thanks

wow it doesnt look like there is much even holding that seat in place....looks fragile. I would think you would want a little bracing between the subframe and the rest of the frame.

got any picks of what the sub-frame ooks like un-altered?

Ok, I get it now. I still wouldnt trust that little subframe unless you weigh VERY little.

I would do something like this: Sorry for my ungly MS paint skills- add one bar on each side for support (blue), and add two gussets per bar (green) to tie to the existing subframe and the rest of the frame.

That fighter looks like some weird motard.. if it were a different color I think it would be pretty cool.

That bike is fucking sick. Maybe I should get the saw out and star hacking mine to bits.

I'd like to see some better pictures for how he's got his coolant reservoir and battery and such mounted.

I had actually been thinking about doing something insane to my 250 lately. I've got it all torn apart in the garage and it looks pretty sick with just the seat on it and no fairings...but I don't have the balls to hack it up like this is.

Maybe if I ever wreck it, I'll do something like this.
