Default Help....sprocket swap and alignment

Swapped out the front sprocket on my 250 today, going from a 14 to 15. Removal and assembly was no sweat, the axle bolt took some doing, but got 'er off.

So, I did the swap, lined up the rear axle bolts against the little notches on the swingarm, tightened down the adjustment bolts and lock nuts and took it for a spin.

Shifted fine, and did notice the top end bump, but also noticed that it responded quicker to the littlest countersteer move (pull). Tugged l to r at a little less that speed and bike had a faint wobble.

I'm not sure if its just in my head or not, because the axle nuts are aligned (1/2 between the 1st and 2nd notch going rearward) and everythings torqued down.

Now it didn't get unstable to where I was concerned, but that seeming quickness in c.steer and real or perceived wobble has me second-guessing my work - especially the alignment. Help???

Your not overly clear here, but make sure your chain is not to tight, go back and double check everything. Take it to a shop if you can't figure it out or have them double check it.

Better to spend 70 dollars in shop fee's then 5000 in medical bills becuase you went down

Yeah, got squared away. I had the alignment ok, the chain was just a little tight. Readjusted slack and she's runnin like a dream now. I picked up the 15T from DennisKirk.com. Somwhat sluggish off the lights, but nothing a little more throttle can't fix and the newfound top end is great for the commute. Best 20 bucks I've spent.

Glad you got the problem solved. I'll order the upgrade. Thanks for the update and feedback.
