GPR makes some really nice stabilizers, however watch out for their new V4 line, as they have had a recall on some of them for leaking seals.

Scotts are the most respected in steering stabilizers, been around forever, and are still THE standard by which all others are measured.

Ohlins makes piston-style dampeners that are very nice, but many bikes need mounts welded on to use them.

Pit Bull has been making dampeners that are as good as GPR in my opinion. Very nice, well-engineered mounts, and cost-conscious.

I just installed the Ohlins SD-187 on an 07 GSX-R750 and it took less than 20 minutes. It is located in the stock position, so change out was simple. Hard Racing is carrying them for the gixxer at $319.00.

you just have to compare the differnces and see what you think best suits you. There is not a big difference between rotary and piston style, they will both achieve the same results.

Scotts you have to drill the frame, where gpr is a bolt on. Like some said you might have to weld a piece on (even though i have never heard of this) depending on the application.

I have a sprint damper (piston style) it was an easy install, can adjust on the fly with 12 settings

so its up to you what you buy, how much you want to spend, the looks, and what all it takes for install

+1 on the Scotts Rotary's bolting right on to 99% of the bikes out there. In all reality, dampeners are kind of like tires: each make has their benefits and drawbacks... and chances are, unless you're a Pro AMA rider, you'll probably never be able to measure the performance difference between one or another.
