Default Brake and Steering Damper Question

hokay so....

I have a 2007 Gsxr 600 and i want to put on a steering damper and steel braided brake lines. Some tell me to go w/ Ohilins Damper and Galfer Lines others tell me different...any differences or recommendations that some of you may have?? ie brand, top mount damper vs. OEM mount?? any feedback would be appreciated

I havent used or heard any reviews on Ohilins (I know their forks and shocks kick ass though). I like the top mount GPR damper- easy to adjust on the fly and blends in (the color that is) with the triple clamp so it doesnt stick out like a sore thumb. Oh and the customer service at GPR is great!!!! (no, i dont work for GPR)

My local race shop, evan steel performance, runs GPR. They just got 5th at Daytona in the super stock class. The said because they are top mounted that it is less likely to bend when you crash unlike the ohlins. If this is going onto a street bike then that isn't a problem. I just picked up my GPR last weekend for the first race and had it on for one race. the seals went out and it was leaking all over the frame. I got on lap out of it. I wrote to GPR and a new one is on the way. no questions asked.

Also have a look at hyperpro, they're supposed to have a progressive damping effect so there is little resistance at slow turning inputs, but dampen more and more as the forks are jerked around more violently.

Riding at slow speeds is a pain with a damper that is cranked down, you gotta really fight with the handlebars and muscle them around.

I have a Scotts top mount and have been very happy with it. You can adjust high speed and low speed damping as well as sweep.
