Default $0 DIY vid cam mount

I was bored and the weather still sucks today so I threw together a mount for an old vid cam outta some scraps I had laying around and a passenger foot peg assembly from my parts bike. Kinda ugly...but should get the job done.

View from video camera screen. Only gets a bit of my leg.

Footpeg still folds up out of the way, and could still be used as a footpeg if I had a passenger.

Hopefully I'll ride to work tomorrow and try it out on the way home.

Is vibration an issue?

Havent tested it yet...I put some rubber O-rings on either side of the bolt that holds the cam. Camera has image stabilization...hopefully that is enough.

Was able to get in a short ride today after work. Rode some typical POS western Pa winter time roads near my house. Vibrations are definitely an issue...I might try to tighten things up a bit more tomorrow, but I may be fighting a losing battle with this analog camera. You can see at one point where I get the RPMs up just a bit, the vibrations from the engine cause a lot of problems with the tape. I wanted an excuse to get a fancy flash memory based vid cam anyway

and yes ill tuck in my pant legs next time :p

The video wasnt horrible...but you might think of changing the location? I was watching your jeans flap in front of the cammy for most of the ride.

I liked your video better than I like most of those windscreen videos. What about a camera mount that would go where one of the mirrors is? Like.. the right side mirror...

I dunno, your video wasnt bad at all... AND it wasnt annoying to watch through some clear plastic....

Here's my $0 camera mount. Some steel strap sitting in the shop and my time. Works great. Just throwing it out there if anyone needs more ideas.
