Default How do you do this . . .(NOOB)

Want to get rid of some of the hard lines on my two-fiddy and smooth out the tail like in the pic . . . any advice? is this just a matter of swapping out or more involved (frame mod, ect)? Thanks

I would go ask at a street fighters forum. Go to the one in my sig and ask them about cleaning up the ass end of your bike. There has to be a few 250s over there.

pulled the rear pegs and brackets...
did something with the exhaust...
the plastics are stock....
seats are stock.....
tossed the blinkers and plate light/mount
used a dremel or some other tool(jig saw) to cut all the exposed rear fender off.

its not tough...maybe an hour or so, and you can put turn signals back on and make sure your license plate is lit

thanks . . . instead of using the stock plastics, could I toss on a ZX-6R tail, as mentioned earlier in the post?

depends on how much work you are willing to invest.

first problem is going to be your bike's subframe is one piece with the frame, the 6r is going to be a separate piece. All the brackets on that 6r for the seats and what not you will need. And you will need to make them fit. Honestly the easiest way is to buy a complete 6r tail (seats, subframe, undertail, tail light, and plastics,etc...) off Fleabay or if you know someone who crashed one.

Then get someone involved who knows what they are doing and cut the tail off yours...but leave 6 or 8 inches of subframe bar to weld to...then cut the 6r subframe down accordingly, and reweld everything.

It does sound like a lot of work, but measure twice and cut once.

Doing it this way will also allow you to use whatever tail you want, from any manufacturer....

This is exactly how the 10 tail went onto mine, but i only needed to modify the zx10r, not the zx7r

I did this to mine...
l_439327f04f47eb1d71dcc5baaac72a6d.jpg
I cut the plastic piece hanging under the seat flush with fender and used the empty sockets on both side of the brake light as turn signals and also under the brake light is a "removable" piece and I epoxied a piece of a cd case inside brake light lense for lighting of my plate as seen below...
l_8fc9f043730bc7d9edba1068eecb46dc.jpg
oh and by the way I had to buy the amber signals to replace the red ones covering the empty side pods.. here's more...
