I don't see why not but you're gonna have to worry about clearance and fitment issues...and it the backpressure is way fudged up, you're going to have to tune around it. I'd put a lot of thought and design into it before I just hacked some parts together....you know what they say, measure twice, cut once.
My buddy removed the slipon on his 04 600RR and rode around and even with ALL of the piping to bring it to under the seat, it was still stupid-loud and annoying and he said the bike was down on mid-range.
I can't imagine how a car resonator would sound on a bike....more than likely it'd make it way buzzy and raspy, IMO. I'd stick to something proven....but then, where's the fun in that??
