Default Exhaust project

Right now i have a Yoshimura RS3 on my 2002 GSXR 750, my idea is to buy a stock pipe on EBay for cheap and go to town on it.

A 750 with stock pipe:

Sorry for splitting into 2 posts, not enough pics allowed per post, my apologies if i am breaking any rules.

My Favorite:

This one has a pic of the exhaust tip from a stock 04' R1 incorporated. This was going to be my course of action. However, it seems the diameter of my current pipe (yosh RS3) is slightly larger than the R1 pipe, making this idea almost impossible IF the Yosh RS3 is the same diameter as the stock GSXR pipe.

What it looks like now:

What do you hope to accomplish with using a cut down stock pipe over the Yosh? Or do you mean you'll use the stock pipe as a mockup for the Yosh pipe?

If it's the latter case, have you considered ebaying your current pipe and buying a Yosh shorty?

either way, good luck

I like the yosh, but in my eyes it looks way too long. I would also like a throatier sound. More than anything, it seems like a fun cheap project.

Plus I would love to say "yeh, i made it myself.... "

To each his own, but I personally think it will look horrible.

Heh, no worries. Thats why I'm not trying to do it with the yosh can in case I mess up or end up not liking it.

Anyone know of an exhaust cap similar in appearance to the R1 with the same shape as the GSXR stock can?
