Default FZR headlights

hey there, i bought a 93 fzr600 with the dual round headlights, i was wondering if it would be possible to put the upper fairing for a single headlight like the 92's had....would it bolt right on, or would there be some fabrications to do?

Default need stay brackets

I believe you can change it but you will probably need the metal brackets that hold the fairing on. I think they are different for the single headlight fairing. Check the microfiche from each year!

technically, all you need is the new upper fairing, the fairing frame (i think people also cal it the birdcage) and a new headlight.

on the plus side, single headlight fairings for the fzr (although only manufactured for two years) tend to be easier to find 'cuz they're less popular (people like the bug eyes).

on the negative side, even when fairings are supposed to match up, they sometimes don't quite. for instance, do you have after market fairings on the bottom? that'll make it even more likely that the fit won't be perfect. but the short answer is that the lowers throughout the range are the same and that both kinds of uppers are supposed to fit.

Yes it swaps right over. Youll need the front fairing, windscreen(91-92 has different bolt pattern), the fairing stay/birdcage, headlight, and headlight wiring harness. The mirror stay is the same for all years. Direct bolt on.

can't you just pull one of the headlight plugs off the bug-eye wring harness? if the two lights are wired in series (i.e. a second set of three wires comes from one headlight plug to the second one), you could just clip those wires and cap the ends, even just wrap 'em in electrical tape to keep 'em from shorting. btw, i have the headlight you're looking for. unfortunately i cut down the birdcage for a 'fighter project.
