Default sprockets

i'm going to change my spockets to try and gain a lil quickness and balls in the lower end but i'm not trying to make a wheelie machine or anyhting. i still want it to have good top end too. i was looking around here and -1 front/+2 rear seams like the normal way to do it. i have a 532 chain and to change the sprockets i need to do a conversion my choices were 520 or 530 so ima try to go with the 520. stock gearing is 15/43. with the 520 the closest to -1/+2 i could get would be 14/47. would that be to much? i could go with teh 530 and get what i want but teh 520 is lighter so i thought i would try for that

That's a fairly big increase in gearing. 2.87 ratio vs. 3.35 ratio - 16% change. I've never ridden an RF900, so I have no idea how wheelie prone it would make the bike.

You aren't going to notice much difference in a 520 vs. 530. Does the 530 still allow you to go to 14/47 if you want? If it does, I would go 530 15/45, and then throw more rear sprocket at if you decide you want more. If you do the 520, your stuck, although you could tame it some by stepping back up to the 15 tooth front sprocket if you decide 14/47 is too much.

i wouldn't drop one on the front....14t is pretty small and there's a slight chance of binding. id go 520 15/47 (-1 on the front is like +3 on the rear)....you'll get a noticeable increase in acceleration without losing too much top end. your revs will increase about 1k rpm for each gear.

i've also heard that 520's shouldn't be used on 750cc and up, but specs on some of the new 520 (DID srx?) have a higher tensile strength than some 530 chains.
