Default polished aluminum maintenance

i got my rims done and i'm about to get the bike back from paint so i'm sure i'm gonna have to clean the shit off and polish it. what do you guys use? i was thinking about getting some kind of buff that will fit in a drill like a powerball. i was nervous that the powerball might be to agressive it looks like its some foam or something.

is there some kind of hard wax sealer or something i could put on them? and what kind of compound do you guys use? my friend told me to jsut use regular car wax but i thought that the stuff made for metal had some kind of abrasive in it to acually repolish the shit

Mothers billet polish, apply with a soft cloth. I pull it tight around my index and middle finger. Put it on in a circular motion., If it turns black then it is working. Work it over good then wipe/buff it off with another soft cloth. The softer the cloth the better it will turn out. Rougher fabric will actually put fine scratches in the metal. Put all the elbow you have into it, it isn't eays.

i actually have a powerball that i use on the wheels on my truck...and they're polish aluminum......shit works wonders but dont plan on getting any really dirty metal clean with a cordless drill......even my 18v wouldnt cut it, you need a drill that can be plugged in...

the powerball doesnt leave scratches? thats what i was sworried about. i have wadding polish its like a can full of polish soaked cotton. it worked pretty good when i had just the rim lips done but now the whole rim is polished and doing it by hand would be a bitch

The power ball is OK (I have one too) but it won't polish to a chrome like shine. I have best luck doing it manually.

if you plan on using it on just your wheels i'd say you want the powerball mini

in all honesty i think a flitz polisher would work better...it looks like its made out of a better material...the powerball is made of foam
