Default What's the name?

Looking for what the name of the paper/stencil is called for painting? I know there is some sort of a paper that has an adhesive back that you can cut a design into and use as a stencil for custom paint....

Anyone got an idea of what it's called? I've searched and have come up empty

Contact paper? If you're looking for a single use stencil that's probably it.

I know the kind you buy to put inside kitchen drawers will rip the finish off the wood sometimes, but it's not really made to be removed. Try a crafts store, like where they sell art supplies and ribbon and crap, and tell them what you're looking for. There should be some lower adhesion stuff that will work.

You're looking for Frisket or hobby mask. Hobby mask can be found at any hobby store where they sell airbrushes.

Hey CBRAWR, if you have an idea on paper, you can go to any sign shop and they can cut any design out on vinyl that you can use as a paint mask.

We use it all the time. It is the ONLY way we do it. It's very flexible and easy to lay down. As long as you get it off in short order it doesn't become too sticky. Just let them know it's for a paint mask so you don't get the real sticky stuff.
