I'm wondering what you guys have used to strip the paint on your bikes when repainting. I got some stuff from wal-mart in a spray can but I've put it on the swingarm twice now and let it sit for 30 minutes each time and rather thick the 2nd time and still isn't working very good.

Lots of guys use a product called Airplane Stripper or somesuch from their local auto parts store - they use it to strip the paint off their bike wheels. Do a search and check it out . . . .

+1 aircraft stripper was the onlything i could strip my wheels with even with that stuff it was a bitch buy a soft wire brush like a brass bristle one or something and a few pairs of the thinkest rubber gloves you can find strripper will eat them so buy a few it eats your skin too its some nasty shit
btw i went ot lowes and homedepot to get some about 2 months ago and i found a can that said aircraft as one of the uses but it wasnt the same wasted 20 bucks i'm just saying make sure it really ius aircraft stripper i ended up getting it from an autoparts store call around first to make sure they have it becuase not all did. that is if walmart doesnt have it
yup, that aircraft stipper is fugging crazy stuff. it will burn so also have a bucket of water near by. Spray your tire and LET it settle for a couple mins.
i bought the airplane stripper stuff and about to go rub off the stuff i used first...it worked in some areas and some areas...well......not so much so im about to go give this stuff a try on the swingarm.....
i also picked up a cheap ass gravity fed sprayer at harbor freight for $12

The good aircraft paint stripper comes in a blue can with an airplane pictured on it.
Use a good amount to cover the area, and let it sit until it starts to bubble the paint up. Usually about 5 minutes. Add a little more to act as a lubricant and use a red scotchbrite pad to scrub the paint and stripper off. Add a little more stripper to the areas of paint that won't come up. Don't be impatient, and let the stripper do the work. Wash the area with water after to dilute the stripper.

i got the airplane stripper stuff last night and used it on the swingarm again and then on the frame.......it worked way better than the other stuff but still not as good as i was expecting.....i guess the paint was just put on thicker in some spots than others......and its also been on the bike for 11 years so.....im going to leave it the way it is...i got most of it off..ill scuff the rest up with some sandpaper and lay the primer down on top of it

I cannot say what to use for stripping paint... but if you are looking to polish your frame I used easy off oven cleaner..... that stuff is the way to get the anodized coating off might take 2 or 3 tries to get it all off but I did it......
