Default Stock foam...can it be spray painted?

The stock foam on my F2 is pretty dense...

I'm taking the day off from work today...supposed to rain...in fact is a little now.

(Not riding in the rain...too dangerous with the way people drive..plus I'd be
a smelly damp dog in the office all day.)

Anyway, I want to get this seat shaped and at least not be stand out white
until I can get down to my dad's house in a week or two.

Anyone ever painted seat foam...?

Just hold off and do the job properly. Cause if you paint it, the adhesive wont hold when you reinstall the cover. JMO

There are two types of foam that are commonly used in this sort of product.

All you have to do is wipe the foam down with a bit of acetone and if it doesnt break down it will be fine.

Ive used seats as cores for making molds..............and the foam holds so I suspect youll be fine. If it can stand up to resin and hardeners.........it should be alright with the weak solvents in paint.

Stop being so vain. Even if it can be painted, the paint will likely reduce it's lifespan.

Trust me, no one cares what your motorcycle seat looks like.

He took the cover off to try to shape it to look like a solo seat.

I know. I'm merely pointing out that no one else really gives a rat's ass what his seat looks like so there is no point in damaging it for short-term appearance's sake.

"Ugh, your seat is soooo unsightly dude!" ;-)

Let me paint you a different picture...

I was merely running ideas by my head...and those here in the know.

Notice I said...those in the know...not those who think they know everything.

So...

I got the damn thing like I want it as far as fitting flush with the body work.

I have it mounted totally onto the stock pan...after much sanding with 80
grit to trim the shitty cowl airheads sent me...after taking on and off
body work...drilling holes, and using a heat gun...

I have the holes drilled...there will be no stock covering with this seat.

Stock foam is going to fill the undulations in the stock pan and that's it.

Then...1/2 inch Vera Foam...black....maybe blue...

Point is...

I FINALLY GOT THIS POS AIRTECH SUCKS COWL, NO QUALITY CONTROL
CRAP TO FIT MY BIKE PROPERLY...

I still have to remove and paint properly...but the FIT is done.

Damn...next time I'm spending the extra cash...and getting some stuff
that all I have to do is drill the damn holes and bolt on.

:

Now...off to make my Air Tech sucks Blog...

+1 to hybrid not only for being the only one to actually answer but also he is right as long as it does not break down with the acetone it should be fine. And I totally understand my F4i hase a one peice seat and I got raged on all the time... a gear change and some fine tunning and all the sudden it wasn't so funny.
