Default Sprocket 520 Conversion Kit

Excuse my ignorance, but I have a few questions.
I've been contemplating getting a 520 conversion kit with -1 front +2 back sprocket for my 600. Most of the tracks I ride are pretty tight so I really don't mind losing some top end as long as the performance gain in the low end is noticeable.
Is it worth it? How much do I stand to gain from this?

This is the kit I'm thinking about getting.
520 KIT

AFAM sprockets with a DID 520 ERV3 Chain. -1 front, +2 back.

Wanted to know the ups and downs of going with the 520 conversion kit. Lets say max speed is about 165, around where would it be at after the conversion? I was thinking like 145 or so, does that sound right? Guess what I want to know is, what is the biggest change I'll notice with the conversion?

You'll notice the lower gearing a lot more than the actual 520 conversion. The 520 conversion cuts down on rotational mass and chain weight.

the lower gearing will be instantly noticable....-1/+2 is fairly standard and will definitely make her wheelie happy...

the reduced mass will not be readily noticable, especially compared to the gear reduction.

the biggest problem is that the 520's stretch much easier than 530's, so you end up replacing them more often. the aluminum rear sprocket will also wear faster if you are hard on it, but some report they are good for 10k on the street.

a 520 is the cheapest mod you can do for some extra umph...i just did a 520 -1/+1 with an RK chain and although i've only logged 51 miles, its a beast like never before.

Ok, I worded it wrong, but yes...I was aware that the 520 conversion basically cuts down the weight and so forth. I guess what I'm wondering is the difference in performance with going with the -1 front and +2 back sprockets.

Sweet man, thanks for the info. That's another thing to consider, I may just go -1 and +1 like you, since you said it was a pretty big difference (beast like never before). Just doing a lil research before buying that's all.

^i wish i had, cause i didn't realize it was such a difference. i really dont like the front end to get light under hard acceleration, but it'll teach better throttle control i guess.

the -1/+1 gave me a calibration factor of -13.4% for my speedohealer, including the factory offset. I'd say you are getting about 9-10% overdrive with no consideration of the factory offset from suzuki.

youll like it, it will lose a good bit of top end but you said you dont mind so it wont be a big deal. I personally like Renthal sprockets but AFAM are excellent as well, the DID ERV3 is an awesome chain
