Default Translogic quickshifter powershifter

Hi All,

I am interested in the Translogic quickshifter 2, it is a electric powershifter that shifts with a push of a button. It can also be set to shift automatically at any RPM. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Im not a big fan of solenoid shifters..........they are hard to set up and can apply way too much or way too little force on the transmission.

Its usually a drag racer thing that requires a straight cut gear box to work properly and even then........Id want some orient express billet gears if they were available.

I had looked into the electric shift solenoid options offered by different manufacturers. Seemed like a easy install with fewer components to install. But, I just don't see a lot of people using them nor do I see rave reviews about how great they are.

I opted for an air shifter setup with a 9oz CO2 paintball cylinder, regulator, kill box and switch swapper. Once installed and set, it works flawlessly! The CO2 cylinder setup also saved space eliminates the need for a compressor. Wide open, ultra fast, clutchless shifts...........yea baby!!!!

One of the main reasons I am considering the Translogic powershifter is it is compact. I don't have any space to hide the bottle, solenoids and associated parts. Translogic has a very good reputation in the UK and from the research I have done it looks to be a well thought-out and designed shifter. But the issue with undercutting the gears is something that maybe an issue, the throw from 1st to 2nd on the V-Max has always been a challenge when powershifting.

I only visit the track once or twice a year, but like to play on the street. It would be cool to be able to hold the throttle wide open and have the bike shift at a predetermined RPM. The only other minor problem is................. this thing cost almost $1,400!

$1400????WTF!!!!!!

Jeezz!!!!! You might want to do a bit more research. Check out some of the motorcycle drag race sites and forums. I can agree with space being a problem. Like I said, the CO2 setup is very compact. Small 9 oz bottle, no compressor, very few parts, simple install and works flawlessly.

BTW, go to your local dragstrip and check out what other people are using. Well, when the weather warms up anyway!
