Default Yoshi or Akra

well im looking to get a new exhaust for my bike... after reading some stuff on here i figured would just go with a slip on and i found two that both have good reputations from what have heard and read but i cant decide between the two. i narrowed it down to the yoshimura tri oval and the akrapovic evolution. they are both around the same price so that's not really a problem (yoshi-$376 shipped akra-$380 w/o shipping). so what are your opinions/experiences/suggestions?

any akra over a yosh....the extra cash is quality.

I would go w/the akra out of your choices.

no need to spend $$$$ for a full system unless you race. I don't like yoshi's but that's my opinion. Akra has good quality from what i've seen.

yeah i decided on a slip on because i layed it down a while back and it rashed up my pipe pretty bad... so i need to get a new pipe anyway to get rid of the road rashed pipe but im not lookin for a lot of performance gains out of it.

Let me guess, he put on the Yosh without a powercommander or he put it on with one but, without a good tune. It's not the pipe that causes that it's the tune or if you put on a pipe without a power commander it will never run perfect. These aren't old hot rods these are computer controlled beast.

I like them both, but I'd go with the Akrapovic.

I just put a M4 full system on my SV1000S. Sounds great, and I got a custom map from another SVer.

Both would be good systems. Yosh has a lot of R&D with Suzuki through their race program. An advantage of Akrapovic is that you could get a header later from them to work with your slip on. Yosh might be able to do the same thing, but you would have to call them to check. This is a nice feature if you decide to upgrade to a full system later.

I have the Carbon Akra slipon. I tried calling them to get the Headers, (I should have bought the whole system) and they told me the headers only came with the full system.

yeah i saw where i could order the headers seperate once i get the money but i wasnt sure if it would matter cuz i would still need the mid pipe... but on a different note would i have to get a power commander with the pipe or would it be ok to put on the pipe and tune it with a power commander later? btw im petty sure im going to go with the akra carbon.
