You will be fine with doing either or. With a slip on you will still have your butterfly valve in place so at low idle it really won't make a difference. You will make a few more whp up top nothing much more than about 4 whp depending on dynos. So no you should have no problem but, with a full system it's a little different. Your bottom end will be a bit softer nothing significant but, noticeable. Your top end will be more agressive. It should add another 3 whp depending on dyno's. Now throw a power commander in and your throttle response will increase in the bottom end, your top end will increase also, it will idle smoother if tuned right because with a full system you have a lack of back pressure and so forth. A power commander on a 600 is worth another 3-4 whp but, what you can't see on paper is the throttle response. It's noticeable and you will eat a little more fuel. It's worth it. So will you hurt your motor if you do these mods without a power commander? No. Will the performance increase after you add a power commander? Yes.

Question

i am getting ready to upgrade my exhaust to a akra slip on i know i need a power commander and a new air filter but i was reading threw this thread and seen some things said about tunning, i was wondering what all i need to do. I got friend getting me a map for the power commander and getting ready to install everything in a couple when the slip on gets here. Is there anything i should know befor i start working on it???
