Default Scotts Steering Damper

Just bought a Scotts Steering Damper off someone that had two. It's supposed to be brand new in box and it looks it. My question, is it normal for it to make a little bit of noise? I have not installed it yet, but when I move the damper side to side I could hear some noise, sure it's the oil inside, just wanted to know if its normal.

It's like christmas for my bike. In a ddition to the Damper, I got a gear indicator with TRE, BMC filter, XT lap timer and a set of Power Race tires I'm waiting to put on. Yeah, I know...nobody asked, just excited to be putting on a few more mods on the bike.

Cool....Thanks! I figured it was normal but I always feel better checking.

Will post up some pics in a bit, getting my bike ready for a track weekend! Finally getting my new plastics painted this week too! Was getting sick of seeing my bike with rashed fairings. Can't wait to see how the new ones will look, specially since I did all the prep work, first time working with glass and bondo. (kit was less than perfect so I reinforced a few spots and filled some spots)

Didn't your bike come with a stock damper, and what difference did you notice with the GPR?

the stock dampers are about as good as a screen door shock.

is there anyway to improve them? like changing the fluid inside to a higher viscosity or something?

I think JK750 posted a link on here about doing that.

An anjustable one would be better though, espcially one you can change on the fly.

spy, that's not a gadget bro...that is a bonifide upgrade

Sure you could do that...........but are you gonna go thru the trouble of doing that for minute gains?

Something alot of you need to think about its "how much is my time worth?" meaning if you fuck around for two hours...............and get a 10% increase in dampening which is still unadjustable...........how much money could you have made to put against a good one?
