Default License Plate Light Alternative?

My SV came with FE and no license plate light, I am afraid it won't pass inspection.

I am thinking about using one of those screws with LED but there are so many out there! Do you have any recommendation, and do you have picture of them installed? Many thanks!

just use one................they cost 10 bucks and are easily replaced.

Look for the wires in the undertail area to connect to.

Heres my plate light. Small incandescent bulb that cost $1 at a local electric supply house. Drilled a hole in the plastic, and it snaps right in. Almost looks stock.

Do you guys really get hasseled about lights on your plates? I've never had them on either bike and never had an issue.

It's a funny angle in the pic, they don't look that bad normally. I keep the stock signals cause they are easier for drivers to see them. I've ridden behind alot of bikes where you couldn't even see the signals when they were on.

And about being harrased about plate lights.... why give the police an opportunity to stop you by not having one?

When they put the undertail on my bike they disconnected my license plate light and stuck the wire where I can't get to without taking all of that off, and it's popriveted. I hope I won't run into one of those arsehole cops that is just trying to find a citation, I've been lucky so far, but I don't know how long I can stay out of their view. Cops seem to follow me everywhere, or at least turn up one way or another. And I don't know why??

bitch please....................

I keep them only because I lent a bike to a friend and he got pulled over because the light wasnt shielded. (it was an old zx7 that still used a lightbulb) which I modified the bracket to use but lost the sheild for it.

Anyways the cop pulled my buddy over because the light "blinded" him from reading the plate................my ass.

Dont give them any outside reason to pull you over.

My wife's F4i has a CW FE and there was no light for the license plate when we bought the bike.

So I went to the corner auto parts store and bought a pack of 4 bright LEDs for $8 - these are the kind of LEDs that the guys put on their 325hp Honda Civics.

I made small mounting plate out of sheet aluminum and drilled evenly spaced holes in the mount just big enough to pass the wires and seat the LED securely. A dab of epoxy makes sure they won't go anywhere.

Removed the seat, drilled two holes for bolts, and bolted the lights into place where the CW FE has a little louver just for a plate light. Made the connections into the wiring harness using the stock connectors and heat shrink tubing.

They work great and are plenty bright.

not sure if you were asking to see pics of bike's with the LED light or pics of other suggestions. here is my wife's 07 GSXR 600 with the LED screw on the right.

it's not all the bright and it doesn't illuminate 100% of the plate, just enough to see the left most character of the plate. i assume that's enough to pass . . .
