Default Paint question

This color is beautiful. The grey/black combo just looks awesome in my eyes... I'm debating painting my plastics this "black chrome" instead of the silver I had planned. Does anyone know of a place to pick up this paint in rattle-can form? Is it a multi-layered kind of deal? (lay down flat black, next layer is semi-transparent glossy stuff, then comes the clear coat)

House of Kolor and Alsacorp makes stuff, but you need professional equipment to use it. You will not find it in rattlecan and I don't recommend painting any streetbike in rattlecan unless you're just going to stunt it or race. Sometimes they turn out ok...for a little while. Fact is, it's never going to come close to a pro job. As a custom painter, I've painted thousands of Harleys (I'm a subcontractor to Harley and do a lot of pinstriping for them through my shop) as well as sportbikes and helmets. I can't begin to tell you what a headache it is to repair badly-painted parts that customers bring in. For the most part, I don't even accept that kind of work anymore.

I just used some of the spray chrome stuff today, it's ghosted over a cleared and cured black base. Then I candied it in Kandy Apple Red and I'm going to put a flat clear over it. It looks sweet like that... I'll post a pic later if I have time. If you have questions or you want to have it done like you described send me a PM.

or go to your nearest auto paint store, have them match the color and they can most often put it into a rattle can for you.

Ive had several customers go and do this when they wanted to paint something and didnt want to pay me to paint it.
