I think i spelled it right....... lol


ok im a newbie..........


what is a steering damper and whats it for? I have a new gsxr 600 2004, does my bike have a stock steering damper on it?

Do I need to get one?

I doubt your bike has one from the factory. A steering damper is more or less a shock that connects your forks to your frame and "dampens" the steering. It makes the steering more stable kinda like a shock makes your ride more stable and smooth on your car.

Yes, your bike has one. Looks like this:

It slows down sudden steering imputs, it's a very simple system. It's good to have just in case. Be careful on that bike, you don't belong on it as a new rider.

Ya , I believe Suzuki is the only company(of the big 4)that puts stock damper's on their bikes.. or the GSXR anyhow..
