WHY??????? probably the last thing you want to do to a perfectly good bike . If you vertically challenged take a little off the top of the seat , you bike has a nice cushy seat to cut .

before you go chopping into your seat, wich will be a bitch to get repaired if you sell it, there are tons of lowering links for bikes and a real easy one to make would be a fully adjustable one using all thread and two heim joints with nuts. The all thread bar would have to be thick and good quality heim joints but you could adjust the linkage to whatever you want without buying something that doesnt fit you.

I dont recommend lowering bikes as it changes chassis dynamics but I really dont recommend that you chop up a bike you dont know for a fact your keeping till the wheels fall off. Too many people "molest" their stuff, arent really qualified to do it and becomes someone else's problem.

if you use the lowering link, (your looking for 2 inches so no other options) at least you can keep the stock parts and replace if sold

I think that the only way to lower a TL1000R is to strut it. Talk about messing up ride quality -- THAT'S how you mess it up.

I know that thing uses a radial crap peice but there is a way to alter the ride hieght. I would need a good pic or two to come up with it but it can be done.

Dont see many of those thing these days and I dont deal with many drag racers anymore, the desert actualy has twisties. Nothing else cool here but mountain roads.

DO NOT LET THE AIR OUT OF THE SHOCK , ITS NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS , ITS ACTUALLY NITROGEN . Second why are you trying to lower the bike , drag racing , your a little short , or you think it looks cool . Let us know and we can better offer advice .

I have oversized spherical rod ends on my hawk. One's reverse thread so I can raise and lower it at will, only need to adjust chain after. Also cut out the center of the seat pan and made an aluminum pan that fits in the frame. I'm not short, 5"10, but I'm now in my bike instead of on it, nice feel. The seat mod alone brought me down 1.5-2".
