I was told that folks wanted more notice about up coming rides, so here it is. You now have three weeks notice.
On November 1st we are meeting for breakfast at chris' family restaurant on Tilghman street off the Kuhnsville exit for Rt.22. We eat at 8AM and we leave for the ride around 9:15AM. This months' theme is the Shamokin slasher. After a detour last time up, we plan to acutally see Shamokin.
We will go up to Rt. 339 go across I-80 for a few exits and then go down Rt. 125 and then head home. It will be our last long run for the year unless December has warm weather. It will be a challenging ride with some technical corners, elevation changes, and crazy turns. All are welcome to come, the signup starts now. Thanks,

What! You didn't already tell your new boss you can't work the first Saturday of the month?! :bitchslap :lao Just kidding! Hope you can come Cabana, may your new job go smoothly,
I don't know if you ride over the winter but most of the CSBA rides after November until April will be done around noon-12:30 and will be in the Lehigh Berks area. Unless folks want to ride after lunch, we'll see. Stay posted and I hope your new job goes well,
I'll be in until I'll need to veer off to head to work. If it threatens to rain at all, I'll bail since I'll be in work clothes most likely for the ride :lol
We leave at 9:15-9:30AM on Saturday. If you leave around 7:30 -7:45AM, could you slab it up I-83 and I-81 to be there by 9:30? I'm not trying to be difficult, it's just that Shamokin is 2 hours north of that, so I don't understand what the deal is?? Not trying to be sarcastic, I just don't see the issue. I have had problems in the past meeting up with folk at destinations far away on a planned timeframe and been waiting.
Now with the shoe on the other foot, I would like to have a CSBA ride down there next year in Central Pa. So, I would like to meet you some time and get a chance to ride with you. I am not sure when we will be in Shamokin. I don't mean to be evasive, but there are a lot of variables in play. I would say probably around noon. Perhaps you could get Andy's cell phone number and he could call you when we stop for fuel or food?? Just a suggestion. I'm not "laying down the law" just starting a dialogue, let me know what's up with you? Cool? Thanks,
It looks like about 110 miles to the meet spot from my house.
Part of my hesitation was the route. 339 sucked balls in my opinion lol. I wasnt looking forward to riding it again. May have just been the mood I was in that day but It ended up being a 370 mile ride and 339 was the target road for the day. Major disappointment. It had some good spots but it seemed 2/3 of the road was nothing but potholes.
But Put me down as tentative for now. You are right about meeting times. Unless you do the ride a lot with the same people its very hard to set a time frame for any thing.
If I join the ride it'll be at 9:15 in allentown .
As for a central pa ride...I'll definitely have to show ya some roads sometime
Yeah, the upper 3-4 miles is bumpy and needing repaving, but the majority of it is smooth. Hope you can come, it would be way cool to have you along. But, if you can't, you can't.
Look on a calendar and let me know which first Sunday of the month is good for you to have us down for a "visit". Preferrably after April and I will need a few dates, so I have some wiggle room in the schedule. Also, I will need a meet up spot on the way down to meet you. If you want, you and Andy could come up with a route down to there from up here. Thanks Stamford, your da' bomb.
Wow. This ride keeps getting better each day. AR, glad to hear you're coming out. I haven't seen you since our "ride through the clouds", that foggy day to the car show. See you soon,

Corey1k, glad you're coming out to the ride. RT, thanks for posting up AR. Psych, hope you can make it up. I'm not sure if I can go fast enough for the Papa...:bowdown
Falling down in front of me would be an exciting ride for sure. that would test my high speed evasion skills. lol
Let's just take it easy and have alot of fun!
Impulse speed. Maybe a foray into Warp 1 at times. Nothing like fresh cold air being sucked into our engines, best not to waste it. Might be our last hurrah until next season.
I keep reading about this phenomena of Last ride until next season. What's this all about? The only time I have ever used that term was around New years eve, before going out to celebrate. And then I said " Last ride until next year".
Me too. But I wouldn't expect to be riding an hour and a half north east, where it is colder unless someone insists. If it is insisted upon I would consider it, and probably favorably. :beer
Now you know someone is going to insist that you ride this way. Probably on some polar bear type ride to NYC for the cycle show... possibly?
