Default Anybody with stretched lobes?

Might be a long shot here, but had a quick question.

I had my ear lobes pierced at 12 ga. Just bought some 10 ga and they fit right in with no problem. Ultimately, I would like to go to a 6 ga.

Should I get a taper for a 8 ga before moving to a 6 ga? Or can I just skip directly to a 6 ga?

I did my lobes to a 00. Make sure you are dedicated, cuz mine never shrank back smaller thn a 2ga and the jewelry has been out for four years.

Just becuase the jewelry fits with no problem does not mean that you skin is stretched, trust me give it a few weeks.

If you from a 12 to even an eight (don't even think about six) , you are going to traumatize the tissue and get an infection. You do not have to break the skin for an infection, the stretching will do it if you go too fast. If you notice crustiness inside the peircing after a stretch, you went too fast. That is fluid from your skin drying and is not good. On the cellular level you have crushed and torn a lot of skin cells.

IMO the stretchers suck. The tempt people to go too fast. Go up NO MORE than 2 gauge sizes a stretch and leave it alone for at least 4-6 weeks before the next step. Time between is the key. Give your skin cells a chace to heal.

CLEAN, CLEAN and CLEAN SOME MORE. As often as you can stand. And NO ALCOHOL!!!

Go too fast like I did and you end up with floppy lobes of scar tissue that will never regain their shape. My right lobe looks live a saggy vagina, trust me it's not worth it.

I forgot, if it hurts stop. Seriously you are going to fast and causing damage.

That really all depends on your future.
You can go all in and say "fuck it" like these people did, or you can pansy it. Just my opinion.

I have always been curious. What is going through someone's mind when they decide to do this??

Why did you decide to do it?? Do you think it looks cool? Is it because you feel that it makes you unique??

I'm not trying to be an ass. I'm seriously trying to figure out what would cause someone to do this.

Personally, I think it looks absolutely ridiculous, but to each his own and it's not my place to judge anyone for what they do. I have just always wondered why people decide to do it.

Were you ever young? Or were you always wise and well travelled? Have you possibly ever done anything for fun, or maybe a hobby?

Why do people root for Detroit sports teams that suck? I can't understand why anyone would want to do that.

Obviously you took offense to a simple question...either that or you've got a severe case of buyer's remorse. Either that, or you just don't know why you did it and can't answer a simple question that I said wasn't meant to offend anyone...and instead respond with some lame ass retort that makes you look like you're about 14 years old.

So, can you answer why you did it, or can I expect more juvenile responses?? As far as Detroit sports teams...hmmm...AL Championship, Stanley Cup, NBA Championship...all in the last decade. How many other cities can say that??

No remorse and I don't get offended. I've often thought about going back to like a 2gauge, but not the 0 and 00, they were too heavy and pulled down on the lobes. I liked having giant heavy chunks of metal in my ear. I especially loved it when stupid bigoted redneck fucks would call me a "faggot" for having earrings and then I could beat the piss out of them. Got to turn two fuckers into my bitch when I had my shit in, boosts my self esteem

Ummm, longest losing streak in NFL history. Let's look at 1985 to the last three years for the Tigers and the other two I'll give you.

Oh and MSU blows

The only people I see walking around with gauged lobes are punk teenage kids. And those punk teenage kids grow up and still always manage to work at the fast food resturants and min wage jobs. I have yet to see one of them actually have a decent job or career. Personally, I think its pretty stupid too. But if you want to do it, go for it. I wont stop you. Besides... someone has to take my order at McDonalds

Awesome.

Maybe you should look at my age and then ask me what my profession is.

Oh yeah, then you can fuck off.

Alright, this is getting off topic...but you need to learn your NFL history before you start talking. Obviously you aren't very knowledgeable in that. The Lions may have the first 0-16 season in the history of the NFL. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went 0-14 in their first season in the league and then didn't win until the 13th game of the second season. I'll do the math for you. That's 26 straight losses. The Lions went 0-16 in 2008, lost their first two games of 2009, and their last game of 2007. That puts them at only 19 straight losses. Which, I'll do the math for you again, is seven less losses than the longest streak in the NFL. Several teams have lost 19 straight, and several more have had 23 games without a win.

As far as MSU blowing...let's see, they've been to FIVE Final Fours in the last 10 years, won a National Championship, and been to another Championship game. No other team has been to that many Final Fours in that time, and the Spartans are considered by most people out there to be one of the Top 10 Basketball programs OF ALL TIME.

If you want to talk sports, go start a thread in the sports sub-forum and I'll take you to school all day long.

And as far as you liking having giant metal things in your ears, that was an easy enough answer to give. You didn't need to go off on some needless tangent when you could have just said that to begin with.

Here's another question...have the things in your ear ever caused you any kind of problems in things such as finding a job or anything??

I'm yukking up the sports thing. I grew up in the burbs of the D man, just throwing shit dude, don't get butthurt.

No, I have never had an issue at any job interview (which I have had to interview for every promotion I've gotten) because of that or my tattoos. Out of the last 6 interviews four were for promotion and 2 were for part time work. I was turned down for one part time for being "overqualified" for Sears.

If it were a problem at an interview, I wouldn't want to work there anyway.

Trust me, I'm not hurt about anything. The internet doesn't really have much of an affect on my emotions. I'm angry constantly, regardless of what's happening on the web.

Now, another question...in your work, do you feel that you've ever had any problems with clients or other co-workers because of them?? Like, have you ever had someone not want to work (or do business) with you because of your appearance???

I haven't had the jewelry in for a number of years. In my line of work, people thinking your a big meanie is actually beneficial. And "clients" respect that they are asking me for assistance based on my area of expertise and my appearance doesn't change the fact that they need me.

There is also a small amount of respect for the position.

And now that I'm thinking about it, people could be laughing behind my back at work, I don't know. The one thing I do know is I don't really give a fuck. I do my job well, and I am good at what I do. I would guess that my level of respect for myself isn't really affected by anyone else. If they want to think they are better than me, they better be prepared to demonstrate.
