16yr old u.s citizen taken away under Patriot Act by FBI!?
-
"We have no rights under the Patriot Act to even defend them, because the Patriot Act basically supersedes the Constitution," she said. "It wasn't intended to drag your barely 16-year-old, 120-pound son out in the middle of the night on a charge that we can't even defend."
"They're saying that 'We feel this individual is a terrorist or an enemy combatant against the United States, and we're going to suspend all of those due process rights because this person is an enemy of the United States," said Dan Boyce, a defense attorney and former U.S. attorney not connected to the Lundeby case.

WTF??? I realize there may be special circumstances where you have to do things you normally wouldn't but to just come in and grab you and you have no chance to defend against the reasons for it?? Or even ask why ... retarded
I just watched the news clipping .. that is insane. Like she said .. the last person/group you should expect to have to protect your family from is your government. They and their services are there for us!!

The Patriot Act is of great concern..but do you really think that if the govt really wanted you they would need a law to do it?
Either way a more effective law needs to be drafted, and the act removed.

That's the problem defining a law which protects the united states interests which does not threaten civil liberties - I don't have that answer for you.
Yes I would agree it needs to be replaced possibly with something better or nothing at all.

How about just Eliminated? You cannot arrest people in a free country on the assumption they may do something wrong.
I have dozens of people in this town I know are dirtballs, I fully suspect they may do something, by the governments standards, I should be able to tie them in the basement and knee cap em "because they may be a threat someday"

When you say eliminated do you mean the law or the people?

When the patriot act went into congress to be voted on, they had one (1) hour to review and debate it in the house! Than they had to vote for it..
The Patriot Act is completely unconstitutional.
