Default Abscessed molar removed.

I chipped a molar years ago and let it go. Well, it caught up with me this weekend when it became abscessed. My face became swollen on the left side and I looked like a friggin chipmunk. It hurt like HELL. It felt like I had something inflating inside my upper jaw.

I finally went in today to have it removed this morning and DAMN. It was all rotted and corroded away so the dentist had to take it out in pieces. I saw it on the tray and it had some nasty puss looking glob at the roots, guess that was the abscess, itself.

After the numbing shots wore off, I felt the worst pain I have ever felt in my life.
It was unbelievable how bad it hurt. Looking at light made it worse. It was BAD, I cant even put into words this pain. Thank God almighty I got a buddy wuth a pharmacist friend that got me some strong ass norco cause all the dentist gave me was tylenol 3 and that wanst cutting it.

It still hurts some but that pressure from the inside pain is finally gone.

If you chip a tooth, take care or it or pay the price like I did today.

I will never let a tooth get that bad again.

That's fucking crazy. At least you got it out of there finally. Teeth can be real pains in the ass.

I've got a molar that's really bothering me right now.

It's not so much the tooth itself, but the positioning of it. It's the very back one on the top left, and it's never really bothered me before, but now it seems like every time I chew it's cutting up the inside of my cheek. It's bothering the piss out of me and I have basically a constant pain from the cut on the cheek now because of it.

I'm thinking about going in and seeing if they can just yank the bastard out because I'm tired of it.

I put off having my wisdom teeth done for years. First, because they didn't hurt and then because I was broke. I have to admit too, I was worried about how much they'd hurt.

When I finally got a decent job, I had them done (when I was 38). After all the worry about them, It didn't bother me a bit. After the first day I never even took the pain meds.

Apparently, they were pretty badly impacted and had put a lot of pressure on my other teeth. When without the wisdom teeth, the pressure that had been on the other teeth backed off and with a year or two several of my other teeth broke. I guees the pressure had crcked them over the years, but also held them together. I have five or six crowns now. I gotta say, those sonsabithces DID hurt.

The moral is, if you have any dental problems get them done ASAP. That stuff doesn't get better by itself and while you wait, other problems are piling up on top of them.

I was in agony today right after it came out. I can take pain better than anyone I know and this shit made me almost cry. If I was to ever going to have to torture someone, thats how I would do it.

I tool 3 of the strong vicodins or norco, what ever they are, crashed, woke up a few hours later with absolutely no pain at all.The swelling is going down by the hour and I feel great.

I take it you have never read the spy thriller (or seen the movie) "Marathon man." That's how the evil Nazi tortures his victims to get the information he wants.

Good book by the way.

I had a TON of dental work done about a year ago.

I had two molars that were in pretty poor shape and needed crowns on both of them. For about three or four days before I got it taken care of, i HAD to have cold water in my mouth or it would hurt so bad I could not even see. I was drinking like 10-15 bottles of water a day. It SUCKED.

The pain went away as soon as they did the crowns, though. Then one of them abscessed about three months later and I swelled up like crazy. Some antibiotics took care of that, and then I had a root canal through my fresh new crown. That did not really hurt at all.....

Now the left one is perfect, but the right one has never really seated right. I need to go in and have it ground down just a LITTLE bit.

Yeah- I hate my teeth.
