5 cops were sent to live in prison for torturing a man in his home, to force him to sign a voluntary contract for consent to search. No search warrant. After 2 hours of having guns put in his mouth, waterboarded, beaten by baseball bat and a battery charger electrocuting his testicles, he still refused to sign the voluntary contract. So the head dick forged his signature.
Too bad for them the man's wife turned on a hidden tape recorder before she was forced to leave her home.
Now they have a $17-million lawsuit pending. If police death squads don't kill them in death camps first.
There was a story here in GA not too long ago about a similar "drug task force" busting down a 90 year old womans door after an informant tipped them off.
She was armed and didn't know who was breaking down her door and got a few rounds off before they killed her in a hail of bullets.
Everyone (especially the resident LEOs here) were all on the side of the cops, "You weren't there, you don't know the facts" etc.
Well, guess what? 2 of the detectives are going to jail, the "task force" has been disbanded, and several other officers are in deep trouble. The informant even said he was told what to say.
When I updated the thread about it and told of the cops going to jail, you could hear the crickets chirping.
That's a sad story that I've posted on other forums.
Funny how that old lady had more balls than most men.
All that shit has to do with no-knock warrants where they can just tear into your shit without giving you any say. I watched a show on TV about the L.A. SWAT team and they just tied a cable to someones door and tore the whole thing off to raid the place for some dumbshit who was in a drive-by. Who's going to pay the homeowner who most likely had nothing to do with the wanted man for his fucked up door? Sometimes it just looks like one big powertrip.
Another worthless thread from dealsgapdragon. I wish the SWAT team would come in and take care of him.
No, this time he's got a valid and really good point. This issue is real and dangerous, and is a direct consequence of the irrational War on Drugs, which has turned out to have done a lot of "collateral damage" to the rights of all Americans.

You gotta think Phil, when they raided the 90-year old's house, did they bother doing a background check on the resident? I can understand if she was a repeat offender, coke addict (the drug, not the drink), drug dealer, with a record the size of my arm. But damn, it would seem as though someone couldn't put 2 and 2 together. I also notice more and more departments don't call it SWAT teams anymore. Instead it's like S.R.T., I wonder if that is for legality reasons. For instance, if you brand them SWAT and they do something idiotic, it's easily punished. But S.R.T. is less consequences? I'm not sure.
: analyze the name SWAT: Special Weapons And Tactics. These are the guys the police call when they need 911......serve high risk search warrants......hostage situations.....terrorist acts.....etc...
What everyone is calling "paramilitary" should have seen Darryl Gates' original mock up when he formed the LAPD SWAT team! That team was originally outfitted and equipped the exact same as small military units. I hate to break everyone's precious little hearts.....but SWAT teams across America have saved more lives than they have taken!!

Who shows up to make excuses and defend the cops no matter what? SURPRISE!

I'm sure they save alot of lives, but that doesn't justify innocent people dying because of their overeagerness to get the ?bad guy?.

Kathryn Johnston. A swat team to kill someone's grandmother. Only in the USA would this be defended.
Power corrupts. What do you expect when there is no oversight. I have met more bad cops than good ones. If i am ever asked to assist any police action i will do my best to not laugh in the face of the LEO.
Well, like I said, when I updated the thread about the 90 year old lady being killed in a "drug raid", every cop that posted in the thread defending the police's actions (including the one posing here) were nowhere to be found.
Granted, not all police are crooked, like all sportbike riders are not squids, but they always seem to stick together and defend each others actions.
