Have you had any freeze plus P or capstun in your eyes since you've had it done?

They would rather take off too little, than take off too much and make your vision the opposite of what it was.
It did scare the shit out of me for a couple of months though. I always wore contacts and rarely took them out. I quit wearing them for 3 months before my surgery. My eyes improved dramatically just from stopping wearing the contacts. I went over to Orlando and had the surgery done, was brought home and I just chilled for the rest of the day. I recommend sleeping so you aren't trying to see, everything was grey.
My left eye was perfect the next day, but not my right eye. I went to my followup appt the next morning and the Dr. told me to give it a little time. I would wait a couple weeks, then go back in and see him. Sometimes it would be perfect, but sometimes it would be aweful. My vision was bad enough that I was afraid that I was going to end up having to get out of law enforcement...that's my dominant eye, which I use to shoot with. A couple of months later, I made an appt with the Dr. who did the surgery...I had been seeing my own eye Dr. for all the pre-op stuff and the followups. Of course, as soon as I made the appt to go back to Orlando, a day or two later I woke up and perfection! My eye just hadn't adjusted yet. If I stare at a computer screen for long periods, my right eye will get tired and go a little fuzzy...but I can still see. My right eye also doesn't produce tears as well as it use to, to keep my eye moist. but it's not so bad that I have to carry drops with me all the time.
Even with all that I dealt with, I would do it again in a heartbeat. OMG, how wonderful it is to wake up and see across the room without fumbling for glasses! It's great to not have your contacts dry out, fall out because you rub your eye or just get icky. Hey...no contacts to dry out while riding too!
i had PRK (military paid for it)... it was awful, with a very long recovery period. the actual procedure was TERRIBLE also. so don't get PRK. but i can see great now.
i had it done 2 years ago, i want to go back and get the enhancement. the only down side is my eyes were burning like a MOFO for the entire day i had the surgery, but seing 20/15 was well worth the pain.

I've thought about doing this many times. I dont like contacts and i hate having to fumble with glasses whenever i put on a helmet.
For me, it was well worth it (even though the military paid for it). I would sell one of my motorcycles to get this done (in hindsight, of course).
We had about 30 people in my Bn get this done before my deployment to Iraq in 05. Out of those 30, one had pain after the surgery. Like sand grit in his eyes. I think the majority of us had the sunbursts at night. Every single one would do it again in a heartbeat.

So, does the military just offer this or ???. I've been kicking around joining in a few years and if they will pay for it then damnit it can wait. lol

No, and I avoid that shit like the plague!!! I carry it, but it would be a last resort to use. I have a REALLY BAD reaction to it. The last time I was sprayed was when I got certified to use it. I ended up in the ER the following day for 12 hours while they pumped me full of drugs, did CT Scans, a Spinal Tap and every other procedure they could think of to figure out what was wrong with me. They eventually told me they could admit me or send me home with pain meds. I opted to go home with the meds. They concluded that it was some type of allergic reaction to the spray...which is what I told them to begin with.
For the first time in my life, I understood all those effed up stories about people drilling holes in their heads to relieve the pressure of a headache. I just happen to want to use my duty weapon to do it with, I was in such excrutiating pain.

Mine not being the Laser system I can say that the Specialist picks the lens replacement for each eye. He knew my left eye was shot, but same downfall on the cataracts was starting to show up in the right eye, my so called strong eye.
He is a m/c rider of a Suzy 1100 & a pilot. Also knew that I loved to not only ride, & still ride hard, but also h/gun shooting. So they are different in his files & I have the same in a card from him as to S/N & such.
Tried h/gun shooting on Tuesday evening only trying to look through scratched up safety glass was the pits. Mind you shooting without eye protection was quite different & remember they eyes are settling in.
Come Sunday I have my old glasses, with large glass frames being the fad way back in late 70s. So NOW have them with HARDENED glass & just plain glass of no perscription. Can hardly wait for I feel I can do better after the bit I did on Tuesday evening. I am a strong believer in saving my eyes for I use to weld & do a lot of grinding on some of my work plus carpentry work & so often I thought I had sawdust or something in my eye only to find out later that I had Dry Eye as well as cataract problems.
Friend of mine had his done 15 yrs plus ago. We were good shooting friends, also another m/c rider, worked at the same job & got along well. WELL believe me his attatude has really changed to the better for no longer is he under the impression he will loose his eye-sight due to SD & gone are the overly thick glasses he use to wear to NOTHING now. Also in those days you had to go back for a 2nd or 3rd operation only he was pleased with what he had & did not go back.
