You didn't quote anyone and what you said seemed pretty vague. Misunderstanding, my apologies.
For the record, you are right, and it could have been clarified.
I'm still a bit of a Porsche fan-boi. In fact I was referred here from a Porsche forum. One of the members tracked his 350Z and blew the motor with only 8k on it. He had proof the car never exceeded redline, and Nissan told him to pound sand, and refused to fix the car. He had to sue. Another member blew the motor in his 996 (last gen 911) and Porsche replaced the motor, even though they never asked or verified if it was owner abuse. Nissan is a large company that isn't used to a focused ownership group, but I applaud them for bringing the new GT-R to the US. Porsche has it's roots, and it's core consumer, is the track junkie. Poor comparision, but Nissan's price point is what drives the debate.

What you have said is absolutely true.
Don't get me wrong though, just because I drive a 350Z doesn't mean I'm all for Nissan
I was actually looking at the 911 Turbo but decided against when I saw the numbers the GTR was putting up.

Nissan does in fact punish for trying to race/modify the GT-R. If you change something simple such as the intake, the car will no longer start. The computer is so complex that it is making it impossible to tune. There is currently a standing offer to the first person to break the system of over $50k as a reward.
I'm sure there is a link somewhere on the internet. But I'm going to bed.
Oh, and personally, I think the car is overpriced and overhyped. If I wanted a GT-R, I'd import a R33 or R34.
I'm absolutely shocked at how Mistubishi that thing looks in your pictures. At first, I thought it was a new Eclipse or possibly some tard who had decided to re-label his. On top of that, there's the Chevy Cobalt taillights. Man was I confused!

No, but Nissan made its name by having value priced performance. Sure, they have gone up in price over the years, but this much money is nuts.
Calling it a Datsun is my way of reminding people that, when all is said and done, no matter what it does or how well it compares to a hand built European supercar, in the end it is still just a Nissan.
AMEN!
