well, im not entirely up to date. if this is the first year, then ok. i know they weren't sold here prior to that.
Yes, the 09 is the first GT-R model made or offered anywhere. It is not the old Skyline GT-R...it is just called the Nisan GT-R and it is new. They just started arriving at dealers this week. They are built in Japan.
Did you see that you can't put after market wheels on it because of sensors on the stock wheels?
Or how about you can only bypass the speed sensor by contacting nissan, and running at an approved track? Oh by the way, they have a service charge for disengaging/reengaging the GPS speed sensor... The car is basically for fanboys who are dumb enough to pay over 100k for a NISSAN.
An addendum to that...it is speed limited to 111MPH unless you call Nissan about the speed sensor. Oh, and even if you DO get the speed sensor approved and disengaged. It goes back on after 24 hours.
Is the GT-R going for upwards of $80-100K? I was expecting it to be around the price of the new Camaro coming out. Maybe I was just dreaming. I heard that the 350z line was going down the bucket and being replaced by that. That is where I got the general price point. meh. More research. Im in the market for a new car/home/motorcycle in about a year when I graduate and have a real job without a wife/kid to worry about.
EDIT: Wikipedia says USD starts at $66.5K. 0_0.

Thats stupid. A family sedan has a higher limit than that. I would think some tuners will find a way to fix that somehow. If nothing else they could just rip all of that crap out and use some kind of programmable ECU.
In the mean time I need to hunt down some new GT-R owners and race them to 140mph for pinks.

Damn...what a beautiful car.
I went to the dealership to get a quote. $1250 a month for me
I hate how everyone compares 911 Turbo, there's a huge price difference. I'd rather spend $90,000 on a GTR instead of $300,000 on a Lambourghini. If you check the Nurburgring track times, the GTR holds on of the top spots.

It's a GPS-linked speed limiter. I am sure that someone will come up with a way to defeat it.

I knew that someone would appreciate the fact that I actually saw one in the wild. It is a rare occurence right now.
My thoughts exactly. I was checking for strippers in the bushes or something exciting.
I came to the conclusion that it is a car.
Once again, this post was for those who appreciate it. For the rest of you, the comments aren't necessary. If it was a bike, I would have put it in the General Sportbike forum. If it had been a stripper, it would have been in the biker babes forum. I suggest looking there for your spanking material.
