welcome to America, i have only been to one gas station in my life where you didn't have to pay before you pumped. Credit card @ the pump ftw! Sucks though because you have to take off your gloves, but you can normally put you card in your wallet and your wallet away by the time the machine authorizes your card and have your glove back on to start pumping then finish and go!

Weird, for me I have only been to one station where you have to pay before you pump. Everywhere else I have been, you pump your gas, then go in and pay.

I hate the pay before you pump, how are you supposed to know how much it will cost to get your tanks full.

WTF there haven't been pump before you pay places anywhere I've been in years. In TX, NC, SC, and VA you always pay before you pump. If you aren't using a card you go in and give them cash first.

Theft is the main reason for paying before you pump

+1 I have only been to a couple stations that make you pay first. I usually use my debit card anyways, so it wouldn't matter, but if the card reader is broken, and you have to go inside, I find another station. Its sad that it has come to paying before you pump, just because people steal. I understand gas prices are high, but I dont' feel the need to steal it.

I listen to an auto repair show once a week out of Springfield, MO and the host has been owner and operator of this station/garage for ~35 years. He confirmed that you do get more gas at fill up in early AM than the rest of the day.

Most stations around here are pump first pay later. Pay at pump does ftw!

Uh you do realize that a "trash mans" official title is sanitation specialist.

Ever though he chose to call his job by its official name because he wanted to and not in the hopes that a bunch of guys would stroke his e-penis.

You sure assumed a lot from that one post. Instead of looking for a way to disparage someones post why not just take the useful info and move on

Post up a legitimate link suggesting that, IM with everyone else on here, being that the ground temp remains the same then you are not going to get differnt amounts of fuel.

Huh? I live in Virginia and every single gas station I've been to will let you pump first.

Really? I never saw a pump like that when I'd go there on the weekends.

The only time I see places require that you pay first is some locations after sundown.

Hee hee, the guy's in Canada complaining about Canada and you welcomed him to America...I knew we were all one country!

I've been buying gas for 26 years and I can promise you that which ever station you go to, the next one you pass will be cheaper. Other than that...who cares....

here is a study that makes it appear as if this is a mojor problem. the ony flaw in their study is they say gas companies adjust pricing on a 60 degree standard wheen buying and selling bulk loads, but sell to consumers at any temp. then they use an example were a consumer buy 20 gallons at 90F and gets ripped off by 0.4 gal. but again, gasoline is usually stored and delivered underground, which is rarely over 60F (at least in moderate climates).

actually, i bet the consumer wins during the winter in norther climates
